    • Marvelous restaurant right off the Plaza

      Reviewed 29 August 2019

El Meson is definitely in the top ten restaurants in Santa Fe. Their seafood paella is superb. They also have wonderful sangria. I bring my out of town friends here when they visit. It is a fun, but romantic environment. I believe this establishment is a gift to the city. Your trip to Santa Fe is not complete until you dine here.

    • Great Food - Great Music - Great Staff

This is a must do on the Santa Fe tour. The food is wonderful for dinner or tapas. If you take the time to sit down and listen to the Flamenco music, you will really have a thrill.

    • Excellent food

We ordered 2 tapas plates and shared a main dish for a perfectly sized dinner. The gazpacho was flavorful and creamy, the beef solomillo filet was perfectly prepared with a delightful cream and cheese sauce, and the sockeye salmon special with a raspberry and apricot salsa was Devine. Gabriel Gillette was knowledgeable, attentive and took great care of us. The atmosphere is mellow and not noisy. A charming Spanish restaurant.

    • We loved it last July so we went back this year. They did not disappoint.

This is a small, cozy, Spanish Tapas Restaurant with fantastic food and excellent service. We were a party of six on a very busy night. Gabriel did an excellent job of keeping the food coming and the wine/sangria glasses full. We had 4 newcomers at the table so we just ordered some of the things we loved last time and a few new things. The Morcilla and the oyster mushrooms are my favorites. They are stunning. The first time I tried the oyster mushrooms I said the experience was life changing. I still believe it. Don't miss this place while you are in Santa Fe. It's one of our favorites.

    • Disappointed

It was our first night in Santa Fe and had great expectations given what we had read about this restaurant. We were seated at a nice corner table with a view of the whole restaurant. We ordered the black paella which we had eaten in Spain last year. It took a while to prepare and looked great when it got to the table. The dish was not very tasty, in fact bland. The aioli did not help much either. In fact there was only two shrimp in a dish meant to be shared by two. At a price of $68 we would have expected better. A definite disappointment for both of us and I'm sure better versions could be found elsewhere. The wait person was pleasant but service was slow. We will not return.
