      Hotel very nice appearance, but not what I would consider exceptional. Staff at front desk very nice, spoke english, very proud of their hotel. Was a quick one nice stay to check out the hotel as I normally stay elsewhere, returned to my original Hotel after one night.

      First of all, i want to thank the following staff members for their courtesy and professionalism. At front desk DIana. She was always smiling and helpful with my various restaurant reservations,she is a pearl..Also at front desk,Carol and Luis both very helpful..Miguel also part of front desk staff was very nice and helpful,and his colleague Marco..The restaurant staff,Javier and Pedro ,what can i say excellent waiters and attentive to your needs,also the always smiling Cristina...From housekeeping,Jessica always made sure with her colleague working my room that i got my facial towels,lol..to all of you MUCHAS GRACIAS Now what i did not like,the management of hotel was dishonest,they had a occupancy rate of approx.30-40 % and decided to undergo renovations in time for upcoming carnival..that is understandable but not letting customer know in advance of booking is truly dishonest and frustrating for guest,who can only use some of the facilities only every other day,if lucky. Monday ,my first day i was able to use pool and hot tub,Tuesday water level of pool extremely low,reported it...Wednesday same thing with pool in the morning,later that evening decided to use hot tub,wow hot tub was fenced out and 2 guys were drilling and working on it replacing tiles,,i was not able to use hot tub the next 4 days of my stay,till my departure on sunday ...pool had water levels up,but water was not clear and 100% clean due to volatile debris and dust from construction and renovation of hot tub,just 15 feet away..so the only way i could cool down from the heat was sipping a good Club Colombia and my shower.... the food at restaurant was good,breakfeast was great,,i want to thank the beautiful Alcira at the bar for serving me cold,cold beers,lol Its is sad that being the President of a local union chapter representting,nurses,kitchen staff,etcc...roughly 160 workers,that i will not be able to recommend NH Collection to them. They were looking forward to show them photos,well i showed them photos of hot tub under renovations and pool with not so clear water.. Again it was management fault,when you receive foreigners in your hotel,you are like ambassadors of your country,Colombia is a beautiful country and vibrant people..it is sad that you could not have been able to reach that bar of excellence,probably too difficult for management staff but not the regular staff,please learn Business 101 or Hospitality 101..with a occupancy rate of 30-40% and 118 rooms,it was quite a simple task for 1 or 2 managers to go and apologize to guest or at least put a sign.. i will go back to Barranquilla,just not at NH..most probably Hilton. thank you..       We were in Barranquilla for a couple of days (3) and we decided to go to NH hotel. Customer service was one of the best ever. Really helpful in everything, very friendly and supportive. Modern hotel, recent, with nice rooms and really good beds. We slept like angels. Breakfast really nice, with fresh food, and good variety of choice for all tastes. Room price are from our point of view adequate for the service. The pool was in maintenance but there is the option to go for free to the nearby hotel in front of NH. We had also a great relaxing massage. It was held in one of the hotel rooms, but it was perfect. We had lunch and dinner to the restaurant "Bocas de Ceniza" and the food was great, well served and with nice options. It's an hotel where easily we can return once again in Barranquilla.

    • Under Construction - Serious Hygiene Problems In The Restaurant

      Hotel is in a nice area of Barranquilla and the property overall is nice. My room had a few minor maintenance issues. It is noisy due to construction at the hotel. NOW THE RESTAURANT - My first night I ordered a Club Sandwhich. Even though there were only 3 other people in the restaurant, it took 30+ minutes to receive my sandwhich. It was bad. Toast soggy, lettuce wilted and the steak inside hard as a rock. Now this was not the worst. Next morning I go to the buffet breakfast provided, it looked nice and plentiful. HOWEVER when I went to serve myself I noticed at least "3 flies" landing on the open items, restaurant personnel all around ignoring the flies. I went to the "hot plate", not much else besides eggs which were COLD ! My next morning I just had coffee. Due to the Hygiene issues here I cannot recommend this hotel. You may want to try the "Sheraton Four Points" nearby. Actually better located and really close to a nice shopping center where you would have food options.

      Excellent customer service and clean rooms. Karol the receptionist is very professional, kind and with a smile in herface. All the employees that I had the opportunity to interact with like Alcira at the bar, Kevin, Karol, Silvana the manager, Angel the taxi driver from the hotel and Rafael at the front desk who I met this morning made me feel very comfortable with their warmth welcoming and professionalism, very attentive and kind. Room spotless and modern....but they dont supply Kleenex that I found its a necessity for customers. Basic breakfast with excellent customer service. I want to take the opportunity to say thank you for your service. Will be back
