This is a well appointed hotel which has been thoughtfully modernised. The service is great and its a thriving part of the local social scene. We had room 1 which looked over the back and was lovely and quiet. The room was large and spacious. Very comfortable. Lovely settee to relax in. Lots of light. Massive bathroom. The breakfast was beautifully cooked although not fast. We used the bar which was well stocked. The restaurant was very busy and food looked good. The parking is limited. Its about a five min walk to town.

We stayed at Nether Abbey last summer and decided to stay there again and play some of the local golf courses that we know and love. We had our favorite room #1 with a view over the Firth. Very large and well appointed room with an enormous bathroom. Nothing disappointed us. It was as welcoming as remembered. The bar and restaurant on site are quite good and I was able to try some local Scottish gins. The mussels are a favorite for dinner -- the starter is large enough for a main. Try it with chips so you have moule frites. The staff is wonderful and we had friends come in for dinner and they were impressed as well. The perfect place to stay for a North Berwick holiday. You can walk to the train station (20 minutes into Edinburgh) or to the North Berwick clubhouse. We are already planning a return trip.

The Nether Abbey offers comfortable and quality lodgings as well as a great restaurant and bar. It's in the center of town and walkable to all the sites of the area. Our host recommended the boat trip that turned out to be a highlight of our stay. The meals were excellent. If you love to walk, the views of the Firth of Forth are lovely, especially at sunset. If you're a golfer, this town is perfect for you, so many courses nearby with one right behind the hotel. Looking forward to returning soon.

The Fly Half at the Nether Abbey Hotel was recommended by our caddie. The staff is bubbly and appreciate their locals. As a visitor, the environment was welcoming and relaxed. We had a delicious dinner and came back the next day for fish and chips and a few drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. And, as I am a sweets girl, the Sticky Toffee Pudding was magical!
