We stayed at Bernard's Landing, 1222 which had been renovated. It provided a comfortable bed, and all amenities included; bath towels (just make sure bring your own if staying a few days) owners only provide two sets, linen provided, dishes, pots and pans, paper towels, iron ironing...most everything is listed on the website. One thing we noticed is, being that we on the 1st floor, you could hear the flushing of the toilet and the water running in the shower from the units above us...no sound barrier. The location of this place is a few miles away from restaurants and grocery store, shopping. The distance just seem to be much further away than in actuality! Scruggs Road is very winding, so watch out for those curves and deer. Overall it was a quaint home away from home.

The lake is huge! The different side creeks were awesome to fish. We rented a boat and made it to the damn. Cool site.

So glad we made a trip to Smith Mountain Lake. The only way to see it is by boat so plan to rent one or bring your own!
