    • One of the best hostels we have stayed at

      Reviewed 04 August 2019

This hostel really is great. The hosts were nothing but amazing and were there to help us with anything. The bathrooms were really clean and so were the bed spaces. Loved that each bed had some bench space beside it, a mirror, a power plug and a light. They also each had privacy curtain and a locker underneath the bed. I saw some comments on here about people complaining of noise but our room was facing the street and we had no issues with noise at all, it was quiet. Perfect location. Great common room facilities.

    • What a terrible experience - The hosts aren't so friendly

      Reviewed 25 July 2019

I arrived at the hostel, the host greeted me and immediately started talking about a discount. She told me to use my free cancellation with and then she would be able to give me a 10 off the price. The host kept going on about the discount and I eventually just went with it. I paid a total of 70 in cash instead of 80 for two nights for the private room. The room was literally on the main high street and my main concern was noise however, the high street was quite when I arrived and I assumed the noise wouldn't be to bad. The room was nice from the inside but unfortunately the noise was just unbearable. The front door and window are single glazed and on the high street, ground floor. In the evening people are walking about and talking right outside the room until 3am. By 6am you can hear cars, bikes and delivery trucks driving past and also pulling up right outside the room. Even with ear plugs the noise was just too much. I think I slept for only two hours throughout the night. In the morning I packed my bag and went to reception in hopes they would be able to move me to another private room. I spoke with the hosts husband, explained about the noise and that I hardly slept. He was immediately hostile towards me and slightly aggressive in his mannerisms and told me not to talk to him and speak with his wife later in the day. I stopped talkiing with him, I felt that if I had continued to try and talk with him he would become much more aggressive. I left my bag in the locker at the hostel and went on a half day tour I had booked for 9am. When I returned the host was sitting outside, she greeted me and said "I heard you have a problem". I explained about the noise and she immediately became defensive, did not want to listen to me at all. She just talked over me and repeatedly said "it wasn't her problem" and that it was my problem. I eventually asked for my money back for the second night, I no longer felt comfortable with the behaviour both the host and her husband had displayed. I collected my bag and tried to explain my side and asked for my money back again but was just met with the host literally shouting at me on the street. This is no exaggeration, she was foaming at the mouth as she shouted at me. She claimed I disrespected her because I had said something negative about the room. I had no choice but to leave the accommodation. They still have 35 of my money.

    • Amazing location with the most helpful staff.

The location of this hostel is perfect. Less than a five minute walk to both the bus and train station, on the main road of Kalambaka so next door to plenty of cafes, restaurants, atms and supermarkets and Meteora is right outside the hostel- you can see it towering out the windows! Stella was so so helpful, providing us with all the information we needed, helping us work out bus and train times and phoning up our next hostels for us. The rooms are so clean with great security and privacy such as really big lockers and a curtain. Each bed also has its own light and charging socket. Top bunks even have a place for you to put your bedtime stuff too. The value for money is amazing, would definitely recommend.

    • A for effort!

This is the best equipped hostel I have seen. The location is great, the dorm beds are wide and have a curtain for privacy, electric outlet and private lamp. The private room is absolutely posh. And the owner couple are super friendly as are the owners parents. The woman owner provided very complete information on how to access the monastery and about hiking possibilities. The common room and kitchen area is very well appointed. Tip: there is a great hiking map in the common room which you can borrow. Just put it back when finished.

    • A wonderful place
