    • Shame about the chambermaids.

      Reviewed 03 October 2019

Room toilet wouldnt flush so the lovely lady at reception upgraded us after we waited most the day for the chambermaids to fix the toilet to which they never came! Not good for somebody who suffers with extreme IBS. Determined not to let this get me down as Im supposed to be in a 5 star hotel in Egypt but Thomas cook ruined that for me too... SO, we went to the jacuzzi and enjoyed some time together and we booked a dinner at the hotel which was lovely. Even though the toilet issue caused me a great deal of pain, (TO MUCH INFO, SORRY) myself and my partner would return again. P.s, rocky road is solid.

I had my wedding reception here last week and we could not be happier with the service we received. Staff have been amazing and helped us to have an amazing day. Highly recommend this hotel and am looking forward to visiting again.

I booked this hotel on their online booking service for sunday lunch for myself and 4 family members. On arrival the first thing we noticed was the lack of people and the unusual smell of damp at the reception area. We asked the guy at reception where we go for our lunch booking and he said his colleague would be back soon for him to ask . We waited about 10 mins in the foyer so I had to ask again to which he questioned our lunch booking as the restaurant was shut sundays! He then went to get the restaurant manager who thought we must have booked the other watford hotel but then confirmed our booking when we showed him our booking on our phone. He then said we could have lunch but it would have to be in the bar area , so I checked for suitability. As I had my elderly mother in my group and my 2 year old grandson I didnt think small round tables with 2 small stools at each would be suitable plus the fact there was not 1 other single person in there!!! It totally ruined our day and we couldn't get booked anywhere else locally at short notice we went home. Why have a booking site for a restaurant that is not even open ? Totally discusted and totally disappointed what a shambles of way to run a company.

We stayed here as a base to visit Central London and Harry Potter Studios.... The reception staff were super helpful at helping us arrange our travel plans to get into London, as was the taxi driver who picked us up, train station and tube staff! The lads behind the bar was ace and I thought the prices for drinks were fair. Breakfast was good, lots of choice, wide variety of hot food and fruit, cereals and pastries. The rooms, and indeed the hotel, were clean and well made up but do look dated and in need of a revamp, which I understand was happening in various parts of the hotel. The fire alarm did go off at 10"pm one night but the staff seemed very relaxed and said it was a false alarm (having read the reviews, I gather it's a regular occurrence!). Would I stay again? Yes. It's a perfect base for HP studios and if you don't mind a bit of travel, then it's great for London too.
