    • Great location, great staff, great holiday

This year we spent our summer holiday in Puglia in really nice place - Masseria San Francesco. We were absolutely satisfied ! Masseria is very clean and very well maintain. Staff is professional and very friendly, all our requests was accomplished. Position of masseria is appropriate, close to the sea and close to lot of nice places (Alberobello, Ostuni, Locorotondo etc.) I cannot find any defaults of this amazing accommodation, I can only advise it. Thank you for a nice holiday !

    • Great place to stay - except for the service!

We arrived at this beautiful Masseria on the first day of our nine night stay in Puglia. Upon arrival we were given a welcome drink and were quickly shown to our room. Despite staff being around, we were surprised that weren't offered assistance with our bags. The room itself (a self-contained 2 bedroom apartment) was beautiful, well appointed with great air conditioning and bathrooms. The grounds of the Masseria and the pool area were well cared for, this we can not fault. Unfortunately the service at the Masseria did not match the quality of the location or the price. Bar staff were almost non-existent. The Masseria notes that the pool bar is open from 12-7pm, however there was only one barman working between both bars. This made it very difficult to get served, as staff were often not easily locatable at either. When we did find the staff, we were always made to feel as if we were inconveniencing them. Asking the reception staff to book restaurants seemed to be a hassle. On two occasions we were simply told that a venue would be closed (they weren't, we went and tried anyway and were seated immediately), it didn't feel like the staff were going above and beyond for us. We could have easily spent more time (and money) at the Masseria if the service matched what we'd expect from the price of the hotel. While we loved the Masseria itself, I don't believe that we would recommend staying here due to the cold and unhelpful service.

    • This was very lovely but "Rural" and had a "delux farm feel". Chic, but rustic.

Not much to do around this area. A few really excellent restaurants in the Village on the ocean. VERY Quiet, no need to spend more and a stop night or 2 at the most. Great Bar and drinks. Breakfast was lovely and tasty. Bedrooms were very modern, yet tiled to the Italian Style. Clean as can be and Very nice staff.

    • Mixed experience!

This is a beautiful Masseria! Despite not getting the room we booked, or perhaps being misled on the website, it was a lovely room and we couldn't really complain. It was however our honeymoon so it would have been nice if they got that right. The grounds are beautiful and the putting green and pool bar are a nice touch. Breakfasts brilliant and the setting so Puglian. The restaurant staff were brilliant but I'm afraid that's where it ends. We were on our honeymoon and this was never acknowledged. A little note or a welcome drink is such an easy win but it didn't happen. You have to go and find someone if you want a drink as 1 person mans the main Masseria bar and the pool bar. This is also a very child friendly Masseria. If you want to relax, think again. There is no escaping screaming kids at breakfast, by the pool or anywhere else around the grounds for that matter. Overall we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't stay here again.

    • Great stay BUT...

On arrival was efficiently checked in and offered coffee and given access to the room even though we were early. The room was large and well appointed with an upmarket feel. It had a private terrace with views of the olive orchard and distant sea. The bathroom had a walk-in rain shower with an adjoining dressing room. Breakfast was more than adequate with accent on pastries etc but there were cold cuts and cheeses as well as yoghurt selections. You take your food and sit on the lovely bright terrace where you are served coffee to your taste. Overall service was friendly and a great place to stay if you have a car at your disposal as this place is a fair distance from restaurants, supermarkets etc. which brings me to the BUT...the GPS unit we had did not recognize the address and we drove around for an hour and a half trying to find the place. All the other masseriae in the area were well signposted but not this one. Even the sign on the gate post was small and understated and once we were given directions by someone who could speak a little English we nearly missed it again. A very frustrating start to the stay! So a note to the proprietors...can the snobbery and improve the signposting.
