    • The best server and buffet

      Reviewed 04 October 2019

I had visited the restaurant for breakfast and everything was amazing the juice maker guy was really nice but I would like to highlight the exceptional work of Mr. Kanisnka who has done a very good job, always attentive and polite. The buffet is really good and many options. Well done! Thank you

    • First Marriott stay, but a lasting impression

      Reviewed 02 October 2019

As I had stayed in other 5-star hotels (Sheraton, Hyatt, Four Seasons, Intercontinental) in my previous 4 visits to Doha, I decided to try Marriott Marquis City Centre for three nights. I did not regret my decision. Hotel Location: The one-way 225 QAR hotel limousine picked me at the Doha International Airport at 10 am and it took about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. The return trip (215 QAR) in the early morning at 3am took a faster 15 minutes. I like the fact that the hotel is directly connected to the multi-level large shopping mall - Doha City Center Mall. Hotel staff: During the checking in, a friendly receptionist, Mohamed, as well as a front desk manager welcomed me. When they found out that this was my first ever stay at a Marriott hotel as a Marriott Bonvoy member, they upgraded me from Deluxe to Superior Guest Room. That really made my day! Not only that, the service from other hotel staff was excellent for example there was this staff who came round to prepare my stay for the night, giving extra bottled water as well as milk and dark chocolates. Hotel Room: The Superior room that I stayed in was on the 31st floor. When I walked into the room, a very wide corridor greeted me followed by the hugeness and spaciousness of both the bedroom and the bathroom! The modern contemporary room is fitted with blue and yellow-brown lined carpet, light brown wallpaper, a standalone large tilted mirror and dark brown black wood furniture. It comes with two single beds and the amenities of a 5-star hotel room including a long work table, standalone wooden cabinet, sofa next to a coffee table, safe, iron, ironing board etc. The room is clean and well maintained. I like the following: (1) The room has a superb view of West Bay (including the iconic Sheraton hotel), Doha Port, skyscrapers lining the Conference Centre Road, the Doha City Centre and the beautiful blue sea. The night scenery turned spectacular with several buildings lighted up including the Sheraton hotel and the blue-lined lighted Woqod Tower. (2) Even though the room overlooks into the busy Conference Centre Road, it was very quiet, which enabled me to do my work without distraction. Together with the comfortable bed, the quietness of the room enabled me a good nights sleep. (3) There are recycling bins for paper and plastics (4) Washed laundry are packed in a thick material box (5) Additional bidet next to WC in the marble-laden bathroom (6) Fast Wi-Fi speed My only complaint is that firstly the coffee making area (with a Nespresso coffee machine) is congested and secondly, the TV set is disproportionally small compared to the huge room. Hotel restaurant: I ate buffet breakfast at the restaurant. Besides the usual Continental breakfast items, there was, of course, Middle Eastern cuisine such as falafel, ful medames or fl and shakshouka. There was also menemen (Turkish egg dish), masala paratha (pan-fried Indian flatbread), Chinese dim sum and congee (porridge), freshly cooked waffles, pancakes and crepes as well as freshly squeezed juices (water melon, carrot, apple). What was unique is that the egg station served omelet of the day (for example salmon and cheese). I had a great stay at the Marriott Marquis City Centre hotel and I look forward to staying again the next time I come back to Doha.

    • Conveniently located comfortable hotel

This hotel is at one end of the City Centre shopping mall. It is also conveniently located amongst government and business towers. The hotel itself is fairly standard without any stand out features of note. Rooms are comfortable. Decor, atmosphere and service are all good but nothing special. A nice breakfast was provided though.

    • Excellent Hotel and staff

We booked this hotel through Qatar Discovery Stopover program and were pleasantly surprised that we got upgraded to a Junior Suite as we were Marriott Bonvoy members and also had access to the Executive Lounge. The room was fantastic large, clean and high up on the 32 floor. The staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful all introducing themselves and providing excellent customer service. We have been to many hotels through Asia, Europe & Australia and the staff at the Marriott were by far the best we have ever come across. We definitely would go back to the Marriott again.
