    • Even a Mandarin-Oriental Global VIP Guest Can't Afford This Property

      Reviewed 05 November 2019

I love the Mandarin-Oriental Hotel Group and look first to staying at their properties when I travel; but their Boston property is regularly the most expensive hotel room in Boston charging between $700-$900 for a deluxe king room. It only has 150 rooms so I understand space is at a premium...I use their restaurant, bar and spa when in Boston but can't stay there on parent visits to my son's college---need rooms under $500......

The Mandarin Oriental is, of course, a luxury hotel. It has a great location on the Back Bay, near many shops and restaurants. The hotel lobby is beautifully appointed, as are the rooms. The hotel has a restaurant, Bar Boulud, which is especially lively at night. What sets the hotel apart, however, is the staff. They are professional, warm, very helpful and eager to please, anticipating your needs at every turn.

A posh experience at the Mandarin Oriental with a commodious room, excellent service and staff, well equipped fitness center and fine location. Room service dining was of high quality and the location can't be beat. I recommend the junior suite.

A superb location for a really stunning hotel. Top class all around. Bedrooms are spacious and very well appointed and a handy stationary set up by the in room desk. Lobby and entrance is somewhat simple but functional. Staff were very attentive.

Often times a return to a hotel, where you've initially had a tremendous experience, will never be as special as the first time. This was certainly not the case with the Mandarin Oriental, Boston. The staff and accommodations lived well up to the bar they raised on my first visit. Can't wait to see how the third stay turns out!
