Way cool architecture

Driving through Hol, Norway I did a big whoa! when I saw this church. I pulled into the parking lot. There was also a tour bus stopped here, but only a half dozen people got off the bus to walk around and take photos of the church. I was awed by the place, such intriguing architecture. Great building. I did not get to see inside and it was closed and locked up. Well worth a stop though for anyone.

It is a charming little church from the outside. There was a sign that said that the church was open and that the guide was in the church, but the church doors were closed and we nowwhere saw a guide.

Very tiny, very old wooden church in beautiful surroundings. Certainly worth the detour we had to take.

In all seasons this church looks really charming. One can sense the many ages this church is already there: from 1200. The exceptional, historical interior is not so easy to be watched: the church is only open in summer, and on several only in Norwegian available websites I found different times, hours the church is open. The best is to email or call before planning to visit. There are also concerts to be listened, which vary from classical music, to religious music, choirs, groups, chamber orchestra, to traditional music. Always presenting a high quality.
