    • Lovely Hotel Shame About TUI

      Reviewed 29 September 2019

This hotel is absolutely lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are probably one of the best I have experienced. Certainly managed to get our steps in everyday walking back and forth to Malcesine. Never used the shuttle bus but its there for anyone with mobility problems. The range of food was good. We are celebrating our 40 years of marriage and had hoped to go on the TUI day trip to Venice but on the day despite being outside the hotel at the pickup point before the pickup time of 07:55 our tour guide thought we were on the coach and left early leaving us standing out there in the cold wind for over an hour. Several frantic calls to the TUI 24/7 number in Mallorca took place and we were told that the tour guide thought we was on the coach. We were told to stay there and that we would be picked up but hasten to say this never happened. We were devastated and our holiday plans were ruined. We decided to try to do something else and travelled to beautiful Riva for the day but we were so disappointed about Venice it took the edge off everything else. Our rep Liam was not back in the hotel for two days and when we told him and asked for our money 152 euros to be refunded he said he would have to investigate. That evening he said that the tour guide had waited until 8:00 for us. This was absolute lies and a cover up of incompetence. We are still waiting for our money to be refunded and cannot believe how badly we have been treated.

    • Great hotel and staff

      Reviewed 28 September 2019

Have just returned from a 7 day late deal stay with TUI. Was a wonderful holiday thanks to the staff at this hotel. Although the room was a bit outdated it made up for it with space and a lovely big verandah overlooking the pool. Luckily it was quiet because of the time of year. The food was varied, plentiful and tasty for a buffet and the chefs and waiting staff kept replenishing when it was getting low. The staff at this hotel are superb from the hotel manager to the cleaners. The reception and waiting staff must get a special thank you especially Sara,Valentina and the young man at reception, together with all the staff in the restaurant especially Giuseppe,Sabrina and Kristina. Thank you all. We will definitely return

    • Absolutely brilliant holiday

We arrived at the hotel and we were greeted with a wonderful service from the being to the end of the week Nothing was to much from all of the staff from the cleaning staff to the waitress and everyone else did not want to leave at the end of our holiday Thankyou

    • Excellent hotel with a fantastic breakfast

      Reviewed 25 September 2019

We had stayed in this hotel as a base when we got married in malcesine and a lot of the wedding party also stayed here. Very pleasant and friendly staff that went above and beyond at numerous times during our stay. Breakfast was a buffet style with a massive selection of both hot and cold goods. This breakfast selection was among the best Ive seen. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the superior room that we were in and there was a daily charge on the safe. This should be kept in mind. One thing to consider when staying at this hotel is the distance from the town itself. It is about 1.5km which isnt bad however it has a relatively steep incline. This is fine for going into town but coming back is a large effort. Shuttle bus service wasnt quite as frequent as we would have liked. It was 6 times a day each way with 2 hour breaks between approx. it was a 7 seater bus so sometimes multiple trips were made when it was a busy run such as the 10am run. There was the potential to be waiting a good while for this. Other than the distance and the shuttle frequency, this is a really good hotel with great facilities and lovely views and friendly and helpful staff and I would highly recommend staying here.

    • Not for us

      Reviewed 25 September 2019

We went here as my two sisters said how good the hotel and especially the food was when they were there. When we arrived we were disappointed with how old the room looked and it was north facing with not much view and no sun. That evening we went for our first meal and we were initially impressed with the set up. But when we bit into the pizza it was cold and the meats were tasteless and chewy. This set the scene for the rest of the week; it looks good, looks impressive, you can have as much as you like but it was tasteless. When we ate in Malcesine we were equally disappointed paying dear for meals that were just ok and the hotel food didn't seem so bad. We found the distance from the old town not suiting us even though we didn't mind paying for the bus. Every evening we went to bed early as it wasn't worth walking in and out of the old town and the hotel entertainment wouldn't be our thing. The hotel grounds are excellent. The hotel cleaners and waiters/ waitresses were hard working and friendly. Especially Giuseppe! He really is the best waiter we have ever had. Well done Giuseppe! Older female waitress talks loudly across several tables to waiters. Staff accommodated us arriving back from Venice just after 8.30pm. We hadn't had any dinner so it was much appreciated. I think this hotel would probably be ideal for a family holiday if you intend to stay mostly in the hotel. It just wasn't for us. Our best day out was hiring a moped in Riva from Motoragazzi. Check them out for a fantastic day out.
