This hotel is amazing! Surrounded by vineyards and mountain ranges its set in truly spectacular scenery. Every room has a view that is out of this world. The room was spacious the beds comfortable. The bathroom was large with double sink and a rainfall shower with a seat and four jet shower heads as an option too!! The mini bar was free and WiFi was free. Breakfast was included and was good. Some hot buffet options, choice of two cereals, ham/cheese, fruit and pastries. The view from the breakfast room is wonderful! A tour of the vineyard is also included but book in advance. The breakfast room doubles up as a restaurant - we did a tasting menu with wine for 38. The sunset was epic! The hotel has free parking and is easily accessible from the main road. Its a short drive to Laguardia, a medieval town well worth visiting, and several wineries. You need to book a visit to a winery in advance especially if you want to tour in your own language.

Amazing location, right in the middle of the vineyards. An equally amazing view from our window. The room was modern, clean and spacious. Can't tell about the breakfast as we didn't have any. We also went to Laguardia for dinner. The winery visit was included in the price, though I must say that our group was too big for the small alleys in the cellar. And the tasting only includes 2 wines. Overall a great experience to spend the night in the middle of the vineyards!

Stunning location. We pushed the boat out & upgraded to one of the premium rooms when we got there. Wow! So glad we did. The beauty of the place & luxury of the room brought me to tears. Could have spent our whole stay sitting on our balcony, drinking in the views and the lovely wine. We stayed for 3 nights which qualified us for a 15% discount on our upgrades. Like other reviewers, enjoyed the tasting menu (eating tasty food whilst gazing at those stunning views and downing a crisp bottle of Tempranillo) & the free tour with wine tasting. We also had the fun of gazing down at a wedding from our balcony. They had an amazing 8-piece Mariachi band and a harpist. Enjoyed walks among the vines. We didnt walk to Lagaurdia - but another couple did.

What an amazing place this is! Easily one of the nicest hotel experiences ever for Cherry Wonderdog and his spouse. The setting is idyllic, surrounded by acres of vineyards and mountains and greenery and distant villages. Our room had a view to die for, with a large terrace and security bars to keep stargazers from falling down to the ground floor. Ironically, the reception was on the fourth floor, and our room was on floor two, right above one of the wine caves whose barrels were visible behind a pane glass in the hallway. And whenever we got out of the elevator, the lights turned on automatically. This place felt like something out of a James Bond movie. The receptionist greeted us warmly upon our arrival and sent us down to our large room housing a king bed (actually two singles joined and made as one), large glass door to the aforementioned terrace, and another glass door leading to the double sink bathroom with glass separation between the toilet and shower. While it was a bit peculiar and a bit impractical not to have a door to the square toilet and only a glass barrier between it and the shower, the bathroom as a whole offered a futuristic feel that I really liked. Plus, the shower was outstanding, with a powerful top down rain shower head and additional side sprays for the classic car wash effect. Its just too bad both didnt operate at the same time. Our room price include a 75 minute wine tour which was educational and fun, through winding cave corridors underground, culminating in a tasting of three Egurent Ugarte red Rioja wines that the tour guide left for us in bottles to finish after she left. The price also included a scrumptious, very generous breakfast in beautiful surroundings overlooking the vineyard. There was unlimited fruit, meats, homemade pastries, croissants, yogurt, juices, wine (a light red with slight carbonated maceration thatI really enjoyed during the tour), along with well prepared (not runny) scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and tomato pure. The server made us each two cappuccinos and brought my wife an extra glass of warm steamed milk. In sum, it was generous. If theres one complaint we had about Eguren Ugarte, it was the incessant background music inside and out. I had read about this in previous reviews, and while it wasnt horrible, I have to agree with those who found it invasive and unbecoming of this utopian location. Cherry Wonderdog felt like he was in a perpetual massage room, with the calming, soothing music that one normally associates with getting a full body rubdown. Cherry Wonderdogs better half had uncomfortable thoughts of being in an Orson Wells movie where town inhabitants are hypnotized in a trance of contrition. The front desk explained to us that this is what the owner wanted, but I dont know why he couldnt see how it left a bad impression on such a good thing. Let the environment speak for itself. This isnt Las Vegas. Silence and the sounds of nature are golden in a place like this, not piped in artificial muzak and the recordings of chirping birds. We actually wondered if we had stayed a second night, the muzak would have made our stay intolerable. Cherry Wonderdog gives five stars to this amazing modern place that celebrates a trade which, for the Eguren Ugarte family, is two centuries in the making. It provides wonderful service, a full package, and superb treatment for the guests who luck out even more if they happen to be too deaf to hear whats piped through the speaker.
