    • The Good and the Bad

      Reviewed 01 August 2019

Let's start off with the good. Lovely architecture. Beautiful rural setting. Generally very good food. Spacious rooms, which are nicely appointed, although our mattress was rather old. A good paddle court. The negative points? The hotel burns stuff in its outdoor smokestack. The resulting smoke is rather acrid and makes it unpleasant at times to be on the balconies, which have a lovely view. It baffles me why the hotel would tamper with one of its best selling points (a beautiful setting in nature) by burning stuff in our outdoor smokestack. The pool is smaller than it looks in the photos. Also, the management frowns on guests using hotel towels at the pool, where no towels are provided. Are you supposed to bring your own towels with you? The soap and shampoo are in tiny thin squeeze packages, about the size of Wash 'n Dri. One other thing. Although the staff was efficient, they generally had perpetual frowns on their faces. It seemed like they felt that the were doing a favor by serving us.

    • Nice rural hotel for hiking and kids - dreadful food.

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the suites here. Plenty of space for the 4 of us, nice balcony to sit and read, and comfortable enough bathroom. The location of this hotel is great for hiking excursions. The hotel grounds have fantastic sports installations for kids: padel and football courts. Big downside is the quality of the dinners. We really could not figure out whether there was anything acceptable on the menu. The best thing was the wine, as all food options were substandard!

A lovely, traditional hotel with helpful staff and in a beautiful setting. Enjoyable dinner in the restaurant, even if I was the only person there! Breakfast was equally good. Thankfully I always travel with my kettle as there was none in the room. However, the fact that my dogs were welcomed is always such a bonus.

Absolutely perfect peaceful hotel with ever helpful and cheerful staff. The hotel has spa facilities and is in open Olive tree countryside. Views of the surrounding mountains and clear views of the stars at night. The local nature parks provide much walking on fairly simple terrain. the soft ground is cut through with deep canyons leading to a large reservoir.
