    • Wonderful Resort in Tucson

I had the pleasure of staying at the Loews Ventana Resort! The hotel offers a variety of options at the site. One can choose from an outdoor pool, championship golf, hiking to a waterfall, or relaxing at the spa. The main lobby has a nice bar area with excellent customer service. The location offers a nice food/bar option 20 yards from the front desk in a free standing restaurant. The rooms are spacious and the staff is well trained and extremely accommodating. My pictures outline the Presidential Suite. Loews offers a special opportunity to relax and enjoy life.

    • Very pleasant resort

I attended a meeting at the Loews Ventana. One thing to note is that it is a good 35-40 minutes from the airport and there is nothing near the resort, so you must take a cab or Uber to get to any real shopping or restaurants, and you need to wait at least 15-20 minutes for them to even show up (there are no cabs that hang around outside the resort, so you have to order them). However, the resort itself was in a lovely setting. It's very big and sprawling. Everything was clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. They have a couple pools and a very nice spa, some tennis courts, a golf course, and some hiking trails. One evening we had a reception at the Coyote Corral, a big open area about a 7-minute walk down a path from the hotel. It was a great setting to be outdoors and eat under the stars. I did mention that the resort is large, and I had a room that was a very long way from the elevator - I timed it, and it literally took 2-1/2 minutes to walk to it. So if you plan to stay and you don't want a long hike to/from your room, I suggest you mention it at check-in to see if you can get something a bit less distant. The room itself though was nice. The bathroom has a huge square tub - almost felt like a small pool. Nice, although some might have difficulty getting into the tub/shower because the wall of it is so high. They also provide a bath mat (which is needed as it does get very slippery), but the mat is standard bathtub side and is actually inadequately small for the size of the tub. The rooms have a small balcony to sit and enjoy the scenery. I would have liked to have had a nightlight in the bathroom. The room overall was clean and comfortable. The food was outstanding, and I wish that every place I went was so good. From paella to beef to fish or chicken and desserts, from breakfast through dinner, everything was very tasty and well prepared. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. They offer a stargazing program two nights a week (Friday and Saturday, weather permitting) down on the tennis courts, where an astronomer sets up a telescope and explains the night sky. They set up some chair there was well and some small binoculars to help view the awesome dark skies, and it's a fun and unique experience. If the remoteness is not a problem, it is a good place to go and relax, get a little pampered, enjoy some beautiful scenery, and eat well.

    • Horrible Lobby Scent- overly perfumed

Lovely location and good food, could use more vegetables for vegetarians however. The mountains are beautiful and so is the waterfall walk. Rooms upgraded nicely. However, very sweet toxic smell as you go they the lobby, anyone sensitive to strong perfumes wear a mask- just aweful.

We upgraded to a Jacuzzi Suite when we arrived upon request. After filling the tub that took forever that evening, the Jacuzzi did not work at all! We called front desk for assistance and waited at least 30min for a maintenance man to open up the wall in the living-room area and then he had to move the bed in the bedroom to access another part of the wall to work on the Jacuzzi. He finally got it going and left really late, about 9-9:30pm. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi for about 30min and decided to get out to watch a movie and order some room service. After eating our over priced grilled cheese and fries that wasn't very good, we decided to relax in the Jacuzzi before heading to bed. We filled up some hot water to add to it and it wouldn't start yet again!!!! Disappointed, we went to bed and the A/C was not blowing very well so it was stuffy in the room all night and hard to get comfortable. AND to top it off, we had the door hangers out clearly saying we were "Still sleeping" and a House Keeper tried entering our bedroom early in the morning! Luckily, we had a latch on and we hear a voice proclaim "Oh, Sorry!" and shut the door!!! Slept horrible thanks to the bad A/C, house keeping and the unexpected wake up call and checked out a little before noon. Spoke to the lady at the front desk and asked for a manager, she claimed none was available. Told her the problems and she said only thing she could do was comp the room service and a resort fee which was only $79.65 when our broken Jacuzzi upgrade that we got to enjoy for only 30mins and a man in our room for another 30min, while we sat in our robes cost us $116!!! But that's not the reason for this whole complaint, we were charged for EVERYTHING off our banking account and then some!!! No comp what so ever! We were looking for a special night alone to celebrate our Special 20 years together and everything was ruined PLUS we were lied to and over charged for who knows what

    • Beautiful resort, excellent service!
