    • Resort Living in downtown Tucson!

My wife and I recently returned from a 5 night stay at Lodge on the Desert in Tucson AZ. Beautiful place..so unexpected. The buildings are historic..the grounds are immaculate..rooms are nice and quite large. Breakfast buffet is included with your stay and is pretty substantial...including eggs..sausages..home fries. Nice bar..great bartender. Pool area and spa are quite nice..although the pool is a bit chilly as the heater is only used in the cooler months. The staff and friendly and good at their jobs..the resort location is pretty central for touring..and golf. We had a great time and wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful, old world place. Traditional Spanish decor. Very good restaurant. The grounds are quiet. If you're looking for lodging in the heart of Tucson, this isn't it. If you're looking for a comfortable place that is a convenient drive to everything, this works. I was traveling solo. The thing that struck me, and still does, about the Lodge is the staff. They are to a person some of the nicest, kindest people that I've met. This wasn't faux resort friendly. Great bunch of young people that are really good. I had a problem with my key card. They had to let me in every time that I left the grounds. They were at my door before I got there. None of them would take a tip for walking across the property to do this.

Super facility. Room was large; clean as a whistle, Both tub and shower, Food was outstanding. Plenty of parking but some walking required to get to rooms and restaurant. Bed was good but pillows were solid foam and if you like a softer one, you had best ask for it. Would I go back?? You bet. A really winner v

    • What a surprise

We just arrived after booking on Hotels.com this afternoon. This place is very friendly and super clean. And the restaurant Cielos was amazing. I hade a ribeye with asparagus and my wife had a House Salad with grilled chicken. The salads were very fresh and both the chicken and beef were great. After a 14 hour drive this was a great surprise in the desert.

Room, pool, restaurant and lobby all tastefully done, clean, easy to navigate and surrounded by exquisite dessert plantings. We traveled with a small dog who was equally welcomed and cared for. Happy hour was awaited every day and never disappointed. Issues with a door lock were handled promptly and never interfered with plans.
