    • Exceptional luxury beside the wild Atlantic coast

      Reviewed 12 September 2019

We loved everything about our stay, particularly the spa pool and massages (especially recommend Shiatsu and Ayurvedic). We really loved the awsome spa pool, which was such a treat like we have never experienced before; the power of some of those jets is phenomenal. Our room (room 306) is recommended, as it had a balcony with an awesome view over the Atlantic Ocean (perfect to see the sunset) and was at the end of the building, so it is better placed and more private than adjacent ones. Rooms are well appointed, with comfortable beds, and a great shower (it has a special shower head). We also had a bath tub. Car parking is free and was easy to get at any time of the day. It's a peaceful, quiet neighbourhood, but not far from Baiona, which has nice sandy beaches and various shops, including a Carrefour supermarket if you need some supplies. BUT although the food was top-notch, delicious and beautifully presented, but they do not cater well for vegetarians. This is our only negative about the place, as we are both veggie. It would also be good to have more descriptions of the food choices on the menu, as you don't get much explanation), but to be fair they will make some dishes up on request and what you do get is exquisite. We enjoyed the breakfasts though (very nice scrambled egg and rice pudding - not together, ha ha). All the staff we encountered were very friendly and exceptionally helpful (even though we spoke virtually no Spanish) - they deserve praise.

    • No air conditioning!

Plus: Great breakfast with lovely views. Easy parking. Large room. Minus: Expensive, poor value for money. Quite dilapidated, needs refurbishing. Ancient wallpaper is stained and peeling off the wall, mouldy shower (see pictures). Shower floor was very slippery and no grab rail. Bathroom smelled dank and musty. The bed was quite soft. We chose the hotel because it has air con but it is not switched on! Staff tried to tell us it was cold outside so air con unnecessary. Our room was hot and airless. We had to leave the balcony door open all night and were badly bitten by mosquitoes as a result. We had booked 3 nights but we were so uncomfortable we left early. Never again.

    • Great place for relaxing holiday

In general perfec,t nice and very clean hotel. Amazing spa. Super service and huge breakfast selection. Just reservation system should be more clear. We reserved room with one double bed and we got 2 single bed together. Beds are not comfortable at all. At the reception we were told that spa is cost extra 14 euros per person. So for everybody who wants to book stay there be careful and read before you book. Rooms and restaurant with the ocean view.

We had heard of this hotel and last summer we tried to book on the spot but there were no rooms. The hotel has a prime location over the sea although the spaces around are not well maintained. They assigned us a handicapped room which along with the bathroom had good dimensions but something uncharacteristic because of the wheelchair equipment that we did not have or asked for. Breakfast is good with a nice selection of fresh bread, natural orange juice, scrambled eggs something dry and bacon badly fried. We had high expectations in the area of thalassotherapy but it was a disappointment because the whole area is old and need of a modernization investment. We also noticed that there were many children making noise and we did not see any surveillance. The staff who took care of us at reception, at breakfast and in thalassotherapy was pleasant and kind. The room was booked in advance through booking and cost 126 . I found the price exaggerated and not good for money.

    • Let down by the air conditioning.

      Reviewed 05 January 2019

We stayed at the Talaso Atlantico at the start of January 19. We booked a room with a salon and two additional beds so that the kids had their own space too. The Room, salon and bathroom were all very spacious. Although clean the decoration was let down by peeling wallpaper and stains in one spot. The restaurant was fantastic and the spa also shined. Really enjoyable but remember that kids can only enjoy the spa for one hour. (Medical reasons apparently). There is a separate kids zone where you can leave the kids and enjoy the spa but if the kids are over 6/7/8 years old they are going to find it limited and boring very quickly. The biggest problem is the air conditioning. It was hot in the room constantly, with the air on/off/hot/cold/fan on 1/2/3. No difference whatsoever. When we asked at reception we were told to sleep with the balcony window open. We did this in the end but the kids in the salon didnt sleep well and were uncomfortable, so we didnt sleep well. I would definitely visit the spa again, but not the hotel.
