    • Nice buiding, away from the Venice tourist traps

An ex-convent, away from the hustle and bustle of central venice. Primarily a family friendly restaurant, there are quality air-conditioned rooms available for a very reasonable price. Marco Polo airport is a short (but very expensive) taxi ride away.

    • A great surprise

We planned to stay for one night while in Venice. The next day we left for a cruise. It was a very quaint place to stay. We ate dinner and the food and wine were both very good and authentically Italian. We ended up needing to stay in Venice for an additional night (after the cruise) and decided to return. We had both lunch and dinner and both were very tasty. We loved the atmosphere. There are animals on the property and beautiful grapevines and roses added to the ambiance. We stayed outside much of the time. They had plenty of tables covered with awnings and umbrellas. It was also a very quiet place and we never had any issues with noise. I definitely recommend this place if you have the opportunity to stop there, even for a meal.

We stayed here just for one night as we came from Tuscany to visit Venice. The guest house is located in Favaro right near the grape fields. The road leading to the Locanda is a typical countryside narrow path with curvy turns and picturesque scenery around. We arrived to this lovely mini hotel right during the late lunch time and were surprised with how crowded the open air terrace of the restaurant was. We parked our car just opposite the restaurant where was the free of charge parking with many slots. As the parking was fully occupied we made a conclusion that locals come to the restaurant specially to enjoy local homemade dishes (and frankly this is always a good hint for a tourist to pick the right eating out place). We were directed by the staff to the bar area where we met the owner who gave us keys from apartments and charged our card for the stay. The apartments had separate entrance heading right to the second floor where rooms were situated. As there were free of us traveling we booked two rooms. My friend who traveled with 11 y.o. daughter was given a more spacious room with one large king size bed and one narrow single bed. I had a smaller room with a queen size bed. Each room had a private bathroom and windows overlooking inner yard. In the morning hours you would be able to hear a rooster roars. The family has goats, roosters and other livestock. Kids had lots of fun when watching them walking in a special fenced place on the territory. At the restaurant owners served delicious homemade local food. The bill was pretty fair. They didn't have a menu. A waitress told us which meals of the day they have as a starter or a main course or for the dessert. We were content with portions and quality of meals. The guest house is small and owners are very friendly. When we came back from Venice after the late concert owners served us some meal as we were starving. Venice is located 20 minutes drive. It was a great short stay in an authentic atmosphere of an Italian farm house. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. Wish we would comeback another time.

We booked this inn online as it was close to the marco polo airport and we had a flight leaving early in the morning . It is located in the beautiful italian country side. The inn itself was very cozy with comfortable rooms. We had dinner in the resteraunt downstairs and it was the best pasta ive had on my trip to italy. The owner was very friendly and generous. This place made me make a trip advisor account just to give it 5 stars!! Stop here if you can and you will not be disappointed

    • A delightful, and unusual spot to stay near the Venice airport!

The Locanda Al Convento is part of the "agriturismo" system of Italian hotels. It is a small inn surrounded by farm land. The inn is beautiful, with a cozy, but actually large, restaurant on the main level and large comfortable rooms on the upper floor. All the bedding is attractive, very "country" looking. The rooms are air-conditioned, although that was not needed when we were there. The food is excellent, the hosts are congenial and welcoming. Chickens, goats, turkeys, and a few gorgeous cats make up the farm animals. There is a system of walking and biking trails accessible from the road that the hotel is on. We were just there for an overnight, but will go back again the next time we fly out of Venice. It is only about 15 minutes from the Venice airport (including time to fuel the car and leave it at the car rental lot). We had to leave much too early for breakfast, but dinner the night before was wonderful and certainly breakfast would be just as good!
