    • Cold Water, great bed. Nice shampoos.

      Reviewed 28 June 2020

Stayed for husbands 40th birthday. Great bed. Very nice smelling lotions and soaps etc. Loads of free movies. Tried to have a shower twice both times there was no hot water. (After running water on both settings for over 5 mins) Due to covid many of the hotel amenities such as gym and lounge were closed. Saw in hotel info that we could "have a drink on us" at neighbour bar. When we asked about this at reception the staff had no knowledge of this or how we redeem this, so despite still being charged a full rate- no amenities in use, no compensation for this. Wont be staying here again.

If you like cozy - then this is your place. Nice big comfortable bed and spacious shower in a basic layout. Free coffee on level 5 was appreciated with snacks handy on level 6. Enjoyed the spacious lounge with fire and office settings on levels 6 and 5 respectively.

The beds are amazing, the rooms are small but cosy. The lounge area is perfect for relaxing or doing work. We always stay here when we pass through canberra. The coffee shop next door has great coffee

    • Conveniently situated hotel

      Reviewed 02 April 2020

The Little National Hotel gave me a bit of shock when we approached it as it is a very large box. The hotel occupies two floors (5&6) with the rest used as a public car park. The room is small, with a fridge, a large TV, a kettle, and as assortment of snacks. The air conditioning works. There are also robes and slippers available, but the bathroom is on the small size too. The bed occupies slightly more than half the room. At the end of the bed there is a large window with a good view of the surrounding area. The system to close the cover the window is very good. There is a lounge on the 6th floor that serves drinks. Breakfast is taken at the Dona hotel Buvette, located some 5-7 minutes away. This is a slight nuisance especially if it is raining. The breakfast is very good though. The staff at the Little National Hotel is very friendly and the place is squeaky clean. The drawback of staying here is that the area is full of office buildings and there are no convenience stores close by . The nearest place, some 20 minutes away, for buying a few snacks and milk is a Shell gasoline station that has a Coles minimart attached to it.

    • Suits SHORT Business Trips only

      Reviewed 17 March 2020

We decided to do a short #emtpyesky trip after the Summer bushfires & visit some attractions in Canberra. My original booking was for The Brassey Hotel but due to storm damage & rain we were moved here. The good things: great location, great precinct with bars, bistros, restaurants, walk to National Library, National Gallery, Parliament House etc. Great Front of House staff - especially Kathryn, room is New York compact & very modern. No problem with that. The bathroom is a very clever design & use of space. I loved the Library facility & the eco ethos. The poor things: king bed has the worst mattress I've slept in when travelling; very soft, bottom sheet does not/cannot stay in place, no top sheet, if travelling as a couple one of you must climb over the other to get in & out of the bed, I could not sleep due to non-supportive mattress & bunching up of bedsheet, too hot to put quilt on & no other sheet or throw to use instead; inadequate seating in the room. I don't know how the Housekeeping staff safely (OHS) make the bed! Due to our stay being a further 3 nights, the unsupportive bed & the inconvenience of climbing in/over/out of it I requested a change to another hotel room in one of their sister Hotels. I must say the Hotel Reception staff were very receptive to this and handled the locating of alternate hotel impeccably. We really were impressed with their response and with the next hotel - The Burbery. I strongly recommend considering the Little National Hotel if you are on a short political or business trip - of 1 or 2 nights only. Doma have more comfortable rooms in 3 other hotels in this very vicinity.
