Fabulous traditional family run hotel in a lovely quiet area. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful with a superb knowledge of Munich, they made us feel very welcome. En suite rooms are well kitted out, clean and a good size. Breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee and fresh rolls. A short walk to the Nymphenburg Palace which was amazingly beautiful, also a short walk to local bars and restaurants (Wirtshaus Kurgaten highly recommended) plus the largest beer garden in the world (Koniglicher Hirschgarten), which is a must if you like good beer! Regular bus service very close with connections to underground and main line to airport, BMW museum, BMW world and BMW classic, worth a visit if you like vintage and modern motorcycles and cars. Many thanks Alexandra & Sebastian, we hope to be back for Oktoberfest in the near future!

On a residential street near a palace that has woods and lakes and canals in the grounds for some great walks. The couple that run it are helpful and friendly and give you a good breakfast to set you up for the day. From the hotel it's easy to get around - the tram is nearby and then your connected to Munich's transport system, which is really good. Very much recommended.

    • Hassle-free happy stay in beautiful Munich!

As an older solo traveler, I so appreciated all the kind help I got here, made my stay so satisfying and carefree! So much to do in Munich--wasn't sure how to structure my precious four days. These guys came to the rescue! Never steered me wrong when it came to what to focus on and what to skip-having first found out what I love the most, of course! Saved me so much decision-making time. Second, knowing the exact train timetables and best means of local transportation (tram, bus, U-bahn or S-bahn) can really make or break your trip. Sebastian et al. will even sell you your Bavaria or Munich-wide travel passes right from their front desk. If you don't speak and read German well, this will save you a lot of frustration with incomprehensible machines, which don't always have English language options. Lastly, the enthusiastic hospitality and comfort that is lavished upon Laimer Hof's guests is beyond compare. It's like a mission for them or something! It felt like the best house party ever, with super cool friends for hosts. Welcome, drink, anyone? The rooms themselves, the building, the whole set-up and surroundings are so lovely, nicely furnished and comfortable. I stayed here twice, and was so pleased with both my single rooms, # 21 and #27. The beds are scrolled and gilded; each room had distinctive desks and armoires, and pretty vintage prints of a local beer garden. I'm so tired of those cookie-cutter accommodations that could be anywhere. This was the opposite of that.

We stayed here and appreciated the property and the owner and his staff so much. They care very much about helping you enjoy your stay in Munich, and in the end, they are kind people. (Which you don't always see in Europe) Facilities were very clean, beds were very comfortable, slept great. Delicious breakfast. We had a top floor room as stairs were ok for us, and it was beautiful to have large dormer windows. Quiet area of the city but so easy to get everywhere. Steps to Nymphemberg Palace and Hirschgarten. We would stay here again and rarely do I say that about a property. They make you want to come back.

We came to Hotel Laimer Hof while interrailing and it was one of the best places we stayed. We had a really warm welcome from Sebastian and plenty of good advice of what to go to see. Family room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if in Munich
