    • Food Poisoning

      Reviewed 09 August 2019

I had a carvery here yesterday, and within an hour of leaving the restaurant I was violently ill. I hadn't eaten anything else all day and felt absolute fine prior to visiting. I continued to puke throughout the night still feel terrible today. I will definitely not be visiting again!!

Food and location excellent as well as service, only disappointment was start time for food 11.30 ( we had been on the go since 5am and had to wait when we arrived) also no build your own brecky from all day breakfast which the kids would have liked but don't eat all that comes with it

    • Dinner Before Flight

We decided to have evening dinner at the Wheatsheaf Farm. I definitely wont be back. The staff were very helpful, and friendly. We were told there was only two meats available, instead of the usual four. To be honest it looked like they were winding the carvery down for the evening. The vegetables were starting to lose their freshness, as they had been under the heat lamps far to long. The roast potatoes, for example had a layer of hard skin, possibly around 4mm thick before you got to the soft potatoes inside. I definitely will not be visiting this Hungry Horse establishment again. Oh as I would say it was early in the evening around 18.00 hrs. I will stick with the hungry horse, valley farm in future.

    • Save lots of room for dessert

This is a lovely pub venue Off the Beaten Track where you have to pay for parking unfortunately however this is refunded when paying for the meal. the Pub is separated between adults and children so those adults without children can dine in relative peace which I thought was a good idea. Orders are taken promptly at the bar and then Served to your table. Food was delicious and quite good portions. However the desserts are to die for but phenomenally large portions where you can request a box to take some of it back home if you cannot finish it which would be the case in most cases I should imagine. A really enjoyable hearty meal and would definitely be returning
