The hotel is large and spacious, set in beautiful gardens and close to some fine local restaurants. The grounds have a reasonable pool and plenty of places to walk around and unwind. There is a spa, fitness centre and casino ...none of which we visited. The breakfast was fine but don't sit near the kitchen doors. Our room was probably one of the cheapest and still fine, it looked over the Jura mountains so nice...bed was small but remarkably comfy, the ac was a real bonus and the bathroom was large as well...Nice place but probably only worth it if you can negotiate a good rate as we managed to ...on a last minute deal.

This is a real old hotel what would have the grandeur in the 60ths but now everything is just not anymore. The entry, the elevators, the rooms, the restaurant. Its a pity because it could be so beautiful. Also am I missing friendly employees. They all look as it is a hard job. Maybe because the big amount of chinese visitors etc.

I stayed at the hotel from July 8th through July 14th 2019. I had a word development conference in Nyon, but hotel space was limited so about 8 of us ended up at this hotel. My husband joined me at the end of the week, as we had business in Geneva on Sunday and Monday (we switched hotels for that portion). I will give a thorough review. I am also pregnant so I may have a different take on a few things. Front Desk: Unfortunately, I do not speak French, I do speak some italian, but didn't find it helpful. Some of the staff at the front desk were very helpful and others made me feel like I was a pain because of the lack of french. It's hotel so feel like that should not happen. I travel A LOT for work and always very aware of not being the "stupid american". Check IN: I had emailed ahead and requested early check, after a 17+ hour journey I knew my pregnant butt would need to rest. They were all set up for my arrival, which was great, it was a pleasure to check in Rooms: My first room was 206, second floor. It was great, high ceilings, great air conditioning, nice view, strong water pressure. Older, but you have to expect that at this hotel. If you are looking for new and modern not the place for you. When my husband got there I had booked a new supposedly better room. He also had early check-in and my items were moved there (I packed up and brought them down before leaving for work that day). Our next room was on the 5th floor...it was majorly lacking compared to the 2nd floor room, I was shocked it was a "better room". The shower was lousy and it had a raw sewage smell after you used it. Not the case on the 2nd floor. I recommend the second floor center rooms. European hotels generally do not have irons in the room, so just something to keep in mind. If you need extra bottled water, buy it in the bar. If you need more pillows they will bring them right up, just call down. Same with towels. Property: Property has a nice pool, pool snack shack, spa, golf course and casino. There are multiple restaurants, but from what I can tell that's a little decieving. Each restaurant is only open at a certain time of day. That being said, food was great for breakfast and dinner. Service was very good and waiters spoke excellent english, loved the eating experience. I didn't get to hang out at the pool but looked very nice. Taxis: you CAN get an uber from the hotel if needed. We did have the hotel call us a cab twice, I can tell you that you are better off with an uber cost-wise. We had no choice when going to Geneva with our bags as we needed something larger. Both times the hotel called a very high end cab company $$$$. That being said, the cab drivers were lovely and the rides were great, just pricey. You may feel alone at this hotel, especially if you don't speak french and you are traveling by yourself. I travel often by myself for work, so I am used to it. I noticed people came in for the weekend and seemed to love the hotel as a spot to relax. The wifi was terrible. I had to trick my phone into staying connected, super frustrating expecially when you are traveling internationally. I know my phone bill through work will be crazy for this month. It's honestly not super great for work. Laundry service was very nice, but do NOT bring it down to the front desk in the bag provided. Leave the bag and filled out form on your bed and housekeeping will take care of it. Check out was easy and the woman at the desk was just lovely. She was a joy to speak with for sure. On suggestion would be for the hotel to have a list of local walkable restaurants. The property leads right out into the small town. It's adorable and has a lot of eating options. It would have been ideal to be given a list and rundown of these places by the hotel. As it's Europe, keep in mind, people smoke basically everywhere. This hotel is no exception, on the terrace of the restaurant is acceptable to smoke while eating, so just keep that in mind. Overall I enjoyed the hotel, it did it's job. I wish I had stayed with the original room when my husband joined me. Remember to bring plug adaptors!

    • Older hotel with not-so-great rooms and staff

Our family of 4 recently stayed here. We booked 2 rooms about 6 weeks in advance, and specifically asked for adjoining rooms. Upon check in, we found out they could not honor our request, even though one of the rooms did have an adjoining door...they just couldn't give us the room next to it. This just seems like a basic request (that I would expect them to get from time to time) that should be easy to accommodate given 6 weeks notice (they did *not* appear to be fully booked). In fact, we barely saw anyone else in this large hotel while we were there, so again, not sure who was in all of those rooms such that they could not help us out. So, one room was fairly modern and spacious, with a nice bathroom and air-conditioning. The other room, just down the hall and in an older-looking section of the hotel, was smaller, with no air conditioning (and a fan that was broken), and an extremely small bathroom. I don't understand how both of those rooms could have bee the same rate, but that's what they charged us. Also, in the older wing, once evening came, there were hardly any lights on down through the hall, to the point it looked like an old, haunted hotel. It looked equally dangerous, as the lighting was that poor. The elevators are extremely small (we could only fit 2 of us in at a time), and old in the fact that you had to open a door leading out of the elevator once you got to your floor. Overall, it was very much an odd and disappointing experience at this hotel.

I stayed here on a business trip to Geneva. I was there during a very hot period in June. My room only had a fan, no air-conditioning. The room was rather worn out with cloth wall paper that had a lot of water stains. It was not a pleasant experience sleeping there. The lobby at one time was probably quite grand an beautiful but is getting a bit shabby now. The bar tender had no idea how to make a Manhattan cocktail. The outside patio was comfortable and pleasant.
