    • Nice hotel for a night (maybe 2)

      Reviewed 24 August 2019

Our family of 5 stayed here for 1 night. I read a handful of reviews so was prepared for the following (which are all true): - only 1 pillow/person on the bed - thin comforter - a/c is unreliable Here is how we remedied these issues: - we asked for more pillows and they came right away - it was very hot when we were there, so the thin comforter was plenty given the A/C wasnt very strong Other issues with the hotel: - only 1 key per room! They absolutely would not budge on giving us additional keys. This was the most annoying part of our stay since we had 2 rooms that were quite far apart from each other. - the breakfast buffet was extremely limited. There are items to order a la carte but we didnt have time to wait for the kitchen. If we had known how limited the buffet was, we would have planned differently and arrived with more time to chose from the a la carte menu. - there are no double lock on the room doors. This was concerning for us since our kids were in a room very far from us and we usually ask them to double lock their door at night. We found the employees at the hotel to be pleasant and accommodating. Pool: small but functional. The lounge chairs are hard plastic without any cushions, but there are more comfortable couches with cushions. Overall, there isnt a big pool scene here and its meant for a quick dip. There are no snacks or food available at the pool, only drinks. I find it hard to believe that this hotel meets the criteria for a 4 star hotel. I would think it is a 3 star. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here.

1st thing we were told is do not drink the water at the hotel. One would think that the hotel would then provide bottled water but that was not the case. The towels were so thin I could not dry off. The beds were hard as rock. The linens scratchy. We were given 1 thin pillow each and 1 thin blanket. I froze. Breakfast had few choices but BEST thing was the freshly squeezed OJ. That brings this from a terrible review to a poor review.

Outstanding hotel perfectly located This was our second stay at the Korkyra hotel. We came back because it is a fantastic place. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. The location is great.

    • Lovely location and very clean and comfortable.

The location is right on the sea front where very small cruise boats tie up for the night. The hotel is close to many good value restaurants and bars and it also has its own bar. The swimming pool is lovely, but plagued at times by pigeons wanting to drink the water! Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly, and spoke good English ( I felt embarrassed that I knew none of their language). The room was spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast was plentiful, with a buffet of hot and cold food and you could also order off a menu as well. Only criticism is that there were flies in the dining room and I would have liked to have seen the food under some sort of cover.

    • Perfect for a couple of days

My husband and I were booked into this hotel for 6 nights on half board. Arrived after a nightmare journey at 9.30pm. We had in advance phoned the hotel to say we would be 9 hours late arriving and they kindly kept the restaurant open and provided a hot meal We checked into our room was very small and very little floor space to move around and quite a challenge to get in and out of the wardrobe Ensuite a good size and shower quite powerful We were surprised there was no hot drink facility in the room and no complimentary bottled water Breakfast was ok with a good selection however the evening meal was not so good and both repeat soups and mains throughout our stay. The hotel was fairly quiet until every other night a coach party would arrive and take over the Hotel and restaurant but no trouble and the staff always went out of their way to accommodate us. We had a mixed bag of weather starting off with monsoon and ending with sunshine. Shame there isnt a lounge to shelter from the rain rather than be confined to our room. We did get to use the pool area when the sun shone but no swimming as pool was freezing. We were provided with towels for the pool area and could order drinks from the bar. We had a top floor room overlooking the pool but sadly no balcony to sit out and enjoy the sea views over the roofs. Balcony is just big enough for one to stand out on. What makes this hotel are the staff who are very friendly and helpful- a credit to the Hotel I think housekeeping need a check list as most days after the room was made up we would either be lacking towels, shower gel, toilet rolls or bin not emptied
