    • Beautiful pool, terrible accommodation

      Reviewed 30 August 2019

I tried to cancel my booking when I arrived because the accommodation wasn't up to standard. The hotel and refused to do this without charging a cancellation fee, so I was stuck with them. The first thing to say is that the pool area looks lovely, it's why it's so heavily featured on any of their listings. But the accommodation doesn't match. There were dirty, worn towels, non-working aircon (because the gaps in the wooden huts and lack of windows make it impossible), broken appliances, plugs next to a sink, mould in the shower and no Wi-Fi (because they hadn't paid their bill). When I went to try and sort some of these things out, I couldn't, because the staff all disappeared at 8pm. Breakfast was included, but also not included as it was so threadbare. You'll see the breakfast buffet in one of my pictures. That is half way through the breakfast time, with no more food coming out. The huts are rickety shacks and were way too expensive for the standard that they were at. I stayed elsewhere in Thailand in some beautiful hotels for half the price. The are and walks in the surround jungle are wonderful, but I wouldn't stay here.

    • Amazing

This is place is amazing. Our house had two big rooms and two bathrooms one which had no roof so that was really nice. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. We really had nothing negative to say about this place. It was breathtaking. The village down the road has some really nice food options. We had our two young children with us and took them to the National Park and we all loved it. I am so happy we found this place. You feel like your in your own world and just so calm and relaxed. Can not recommend it enough.

    • Perfect stay!

Stayed here on our honeymoon. Great location to get to the national parks. Staff always very polite with good English. Breakfast and dinner was tasty, esp the pineapple pancake. We stayed in the cabins, i was expecting a lot more bugs etc in the room seeing as how we were in the rainforest but there were only a few thankfully! The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the village, which has a few shops, pharmacy and lots of restaurants. We took two trips which the hotel organised everything for us-the river kayaking and the day trip to the lake. Both were brilliant and I would 100% do them again. The pool is well kept and a welcome break from the heat-the perfect escape!

A rustic facility with breathtaking views of three high rising rocky mountains covered in dense tropical vegetation. We wanted for naught and we enjoyed our stay very much. The little village a stone throw away added a little variety to our daily languid activities. The pool was a great and highly welcome hangout and the restaurant was sparse in choices but the local dishes begged for comebacks and we ordered them frequently, especially the fried fish with tamarind sauce. The staff were helpful and we never picked any hint of stress. I great gateway, hideaway hotel to go back to.

Perfect end to an amazing trip. My husband and I spent ten days in Thailand and this was our last stop. Gorgeous does not even begin to cover it. We piled into a taxi from Rassada Pier (about three hours) and were exhausted. Upon arrival, I wasn't in the best of moods to be quite frank. When we slipped off our shoes and mozied into the open air lobby, my frown turned upside down right away. Talk. About. A. View. The iconic limestone mountains besotted by delicious little villas were quite the welcome wagon. We checked in and headed down to our bungalow. My husband remarked that all of the pieces were heirloom wood. I didn't know what that meant either. All of the pieces in the entire place are built from single pieces of wood. They were gorgeous, but the message that I got from them was absolute attention to detail. As other reviewers have mentioned, the staff seriously learns your names. We were greeted as such the entire time. A small town is just 500 meters down the way. We didn't try any of the restaurants to be honest, but were thankful for the 7 Eleven. Attached is a laundromat. By this point in our 10 day adventure, it was absolutely necessary. We paid a minimal fee and the laundry was delivered to our bungalow the next day. Speaking of the bungalow, it was very quaint. Not in a bad way whatsoever. It was just enough nature for me. A bug or two. But, with air conditioning and an on-site restaurant. ABOVE ALL ELSE, I highly recommend that you take the tour of Khao Lok. You can book it right at the front desk. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we'll never forget it. Sam was our tour guide and we spent the entire day sailing on the lake, trekking through the jungle and enjoying delicious Thai food for an incredibly reasonable price. Book, book, book. You won't regret it.
