    • Family holiday first time Croatia

      Reviewed 12 September 2019

Croatia is really beautiful. On first glance hotel looked modern, stylish and we were very excited. Hotel rooms well decorated, clean and airy. Beds very comfortable. No real storage, only wardrobe small half size! Dresses far too long, shirt size only! One tall boy storage unit at kids end. People we met were living out of their suitcases. We booked with Jet2holidays, and from details, having booked half board expected to be able to use the well published restaurants in the resort, this is not the case. Very disappointed as we were stuck having a very limited (basically the same food every night) international buffet. We ended up hiring a car and going out. The hotel staff were not very helpful, they didnt look for jobs, we had to ask all the time. They did not clear plates through out the meal, so we ended doing this ourselves! Their times were very very rigid, and once the doors closed, that was it. No real lunch served, a Greek salad option and cheese and ham sandwich!! We ate lunch at one of their beach bars, until one day a waiter screamed What at me when I asked for help. When I complained to the manager, he spoke to him and the waiter screamed back at his manager!!! We didnt return! Hotel guests not very friendly, no one smiled, meal times were a bun fight and it felt like commuting to work! Hotel manager was helpful, one in my party was vegetarian and they cooked the pasta in same pan as meats had been in, he did sort this out when we could grab him! The rest of the time they lived on a basic salad offering! Not great value for money. Not friendly or relaxing place, as lots of families seemed to be screaming at each other as a matter of course. Not somewhere we would return to. Croatia yes, but not this resort! Choose somewhere else!

Very nice hotel with perfect housekeeping, clean, fresh, food is delicious, you have a lot of diverse content. What ever you imagine - you can do there. Every evening you have band on the terrace so you can just sit, relax and chill or take a walk.

    • Good location, lovely beach, poor food more of a 3.5

      Reviewed 10 September 2019

The hotel was fresh, clean and nicely decorated. Bedrooms were a nice size and the beds and bedding were very comfortable and good quality. There was nowhere near enough storage for a family of 4. No hanging space for long clothes. Swimming pool area was good, you didn't need to reserve sunbeds too early like in some other hotels. There were no life guards and the kids (ours included) loved jumping off of the pretend rocks into the pool which felt like a bit of a hazard when it was busy. Dining room was spacious, airy and clean with modern decor and several different seating options. The food was a big disappointment. It was repetitive, uninteresting and lacked variety. It didn't match the quality of the hotel. The salad bar consisted of around 6 bowls of very basic salad. The cold meat section was quite good although there were quite alot of flies around landing on the meat. The layout was badly thought out which resulted in queues and over crowding. The food was displayed more like a school canteen. The beach was lovely, not busy and right next to the hotel, kid-friendly, shallow water. It was gravel which I found to be better than sand as it doesn't get everywhere and not as uncomfortable as stones. It was great to have other hotels within the complex to wander to in the evening for a drink. It gave variety to the evenings. We could charge to our room in every hotel which was very convenient. The walk along the coast was very pretty and unspoilt, very beautiful scenery.

    • The Soul less Hotel

      Reviewed 07 September 2019

Stayed here in May with my family. The hotel is pretty soul less to be honest. It feels more like a business hotel then a holiday destination. The rooms are nice and clean and spacious but again feel cold and not someone you want to spend anytime in. The Buffett for breakfast and dinner is pretty poor with little to no veg. If you order wine by the glass the measures is tiny even the waitress laughed when we commented. The deserts for kids are bland cakes that taste all the same, they serve ice cream but its extra so a lot parents didnt want to pay so you had the kids that had ice creams and the ones that didnt. The whole operation seems to geared to being as tight as possible. They had a few bands on at night which were quiet good but other nights when no entertainment it was pretty boring and there is no where nice to sit indoors the hotel feels like an airport lounge. The hotel is not near any town so a car is essential, there is a little water park next door which is really catered for under 10,s , teenagers would be bored. Overall I find I enjoyed the days but dreaded the boring evenings. Would not be returning.

    • Lovely summer family holiday

      Reviewed 31 August 2019

We have just had our 10 day family holiday in the Amadria Park Hotel Jakov. The hotel is lovely, very clean, light and airy. You can tell it is recently refurbished. The reception is a relaxed area but you are not sure when it is your turn as there are 3 desks on one side (much like a travel agents shop style) and no queuing system. But check in was a quick process. We had booked direct with the hotel and choose a 42 square metres family room with balconies and see view. Lovely large room which easily accommodated us (2 adults and 2 children - 12 and 10). There was a king size double bed, bunk beds and we found the sofa was a sofa bed so could have slept 5 easily. There is a separate toilet (cloak room style) and a walk-in shower room. All in clean and fully working order. However, very little storage for your clothes/shoes. Really the room needed a large chest of drawers under the TV as only 1 small double wardrobe with 2 shelves underneath next to the king size bed, and a small single wall unit with 3 shelves at the top and a small cupboard at the bottom with 2 shelves next to the bunk beds. We booked half board option for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was very busy in a morning from around 8:30am (breakfast is served 7am to 10:30am). It is a buffet style with the same offering each day. The food is regularly added to, but when busy you will face a wait for as there is only 1 cook on each station (I.e. omelettes, eggs, pancakes & waffles). Between 7-8am it is easier to walk around and get your breakfast. We also noticed that the same lady was responsible for keeping the 2 coffee machines filled up with coffee and milk and cleaned, bringing out fresh cups, keeping 2 juice machines filled up and clean and bringing out fresh glasses and also the keeping enough open champagne bottles. She did a Stirling job but we thought a little unfair on one person, so expect queues while you wait for cups, glasses or refills as there is only 1 member of staff doing all this. Evening meals were more sedate pace as it appeared less people were using the restaurant. Dinner is served between 7pm to 9pm. The Buffett menu was the same style each night, only the meats offer would change in rotation. Personally Id have liked to see some more variety in the menu over the stay as I was boarded with the dinner menu after 5 days. We were told at check in that Guests are only allowed to use their hotels pools and restaurant. But you can use any area of the beach you choose. There is a small, but well stocked mini market on site (as there are 2 camp sites on the resort) which is open 8am to 8pm. So you can stock up on drinks and snacks. The pools were very cold considering the summer heat (around 32 deg C during our stay). Plenty of sun beds but shade is very limited as large areas had no sun shades. The pool is open 9am to 7pm. However, we did see people putting there towels on beds as early as 7:30am! Then going off to breakfast. There are only 2 signs up as you enter the area with the pool rules on and no obvious life guard. There are no repeats of the no diving rule near the pool for example. There are decorative rocks at the sides of the pool which lots of parents allowed their children to climb on the rocks and jump in to the pool. Pool is only 1.25m deep and rocks are nearly 1m above pool side at highest point. Accident waiting to happen in our view, so we didnt let ours do it. But the boys did jump in from the side of the pool feet first which was fine. You can book excursions through the hotel reception and taxis to get to the local town (Sibernik) and attractions. The next door water park is small but fun. We stayed for 4 hours with our boys. It was clean and in working order with plenty of sun beds, but shaded areas were challenging to find in the afternoon when we arrived.
