    • Very very nice resort. Not quite 5* in my opinion.

The resort is really nice and the vast majority is indeed up to 5* standards, with a couple of exceptions. The plus points: All areas kept very clean. Activities to suit all. Food is superb, there really isnt any need to use the al a carte restaurants as the buffet is superb, however, the fig & olive was our favourite al a carte, the rib eye steak being the best dish in our opinion. All the restaurant staff were excellent, I honestly cannot remember all the names but each and everyone of them are a credit to the resort. Alexandria & Peggy at the snack bar are really good. If you go, look out for Frankie, a small grey cat, very friendly and will come for a walk around the resort in the evenings and follow you. We picked him up by the activity pool and he came all around to the theatre bar where we scrounged some milk for him which he really appreciated (he also likes the kebab chicken from the snack bar). A few negative points: Sunbeds around the Adult pool and front line at the main pool are at a premium and you have to get up early to get your towels out to reserve a decent location, ok, there were plenty of sunbeds away from the pool edge so its not a show stopper. The day housekeeping staff had a habit of removing items and not replacing them, I.e., face cloths, bath robes and soap. Note, the night girl (Kellie), was excellent and she went out of her way to find the items not replenished by day staff. The mini bar in the room is not topped up daily, even though the sign above it says it is. We often had to phone reception to get tea bags, sugar and milk delivered. It is these very minor negatives that prevent me from giving Aphrodite hills 5*s. In all other 5* hotels and resorts that we have stayed in paid attention to these minor details, not a big deal but just a constructive observation. The golf course: I found the course to be a visually stunning layout, however, we visited just after the greens had been dressed and due to the co start sunshine, they were left a bit long and therefore they were extremely slow, possibly the slowest that I have ever played, which is a shame as it is the PGA National course for Cyprus and I would have thought that even though they had been dressed, they could have had a touch more speed.

    • Another Great Holiday

Just Returned from another 2 week holiday here and wasn't disappointed. We have been here a number of times and always found it to be a great place to holiday. When we first got there we didn't feel the pool service was up to scratch so we had a word with the bars manager Aristos who quickly sorted this out and put Vasilie on service and from there onwards the service was fantastic. Its typical in our experience that they always seem willing to sort out any problem you might have. I did feel that this year however that the standard of food in the buffet restaurant had gone down a bit but it was still good and plenty of other restaurant options to choose from. The El Gabor open air Mexican restaurant is a great place to eat at Lunchtimes. The jasmine Asian restaurant is also pretty good. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and seem to go that extra mile. The rooms are spacious and clean and well stocked with toiletries and soaps etc. The mini bar is also stocked up each day with water, pepsi, juices and local beers. We usually go mid September for a couple of weeks and the weather is always hot and sunny. The local supermarket in the village is amazingly expensive so best avoided. We will definitely go back once again next year

Recently spent week here. Location - as I was recently diagnosed with cancer wanted a nice relaxing holiday in nice surroundings all achieved here. Went into Paphos by bus no problem at all. Staff - most of the staff were excellent and made my stay even more enjoyable. Loved fact Fig and Olive adults only for breakfast and lunch. Cannot remember ladies name at breakfast was small blonde attractive and she was amazing as was the tall slim gentleman at the pool bar. Food - ate at the buffet all the time. Always lovely food; something to eat for everyone. Drinks - loved the Pina Colada Pol - lovely pool never had a problem with getting a sunbed. My only negative was the room. On the surface nice room. The bathroom I would say was not cleaned to the standard of the rest of the hotel. A blind in the bedroom was damaged. Once I had to find a member if staff for some towels. I also asked for the coffee to be replaced; unfortunately this took 2 days. Would I stay here again - yes based on location facilities and staff.

    • Lovely Location and grounds but marred by Illness

Just arrived back from this all inclusive resort my wife and I booked for our wedding anniversary. Lovely first impressions being greeted with a glass of champagne and a hot towel to remove the grind of the flight . The room itself was spacious and clean. Unfortunately I picked up Gastroenteritis on the second day and was unable to eat for 3 days resulting in 24 hours in hospital on a drip. I am not saying this is the hotels fault. The Medical Centre team came out on Sunday and were superb and very decisive in getting me to the hospital immediately. PLEASE ENSURE you take out Travel Insurance!! Good Points: Grounds are beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful The Stone Grill restaurant was superb. Well worth the extra 20 Euro each. The pool staff were very attentive . Bad Points The restaurant booking system didnt work on one day resulting in a queue at the front desk. Sun beds are still being reserved from early morning without intervention from the pool staff. The connecting doors between rooms is an issue as you can hear EVERYTHING that is happening next door! Overall our views of the hotel are marred by my illness during our stay . Im sure it would have had a better impression and overall score if this had not happened.
