    • Great location

      Reviewed 07 September 2019

we just stayed here. Our room was very clean. The housekeeping lady went out of her way to help us. She had just started a day ago but did a great job! The front desk agent was very helpful as well. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the pool.the beds were comfortable. Hurry and finish renovating it and you will be on your way to 5 stars. We will definitely be back. Thanks!

    • FLEAS!!

      Reviewed 05 September 2019

This was my first time staying in Destin. I typically do thorough research before booking a room, but being it was a holiday weekend and I was already on the road when I booked, I regretfully didn't read the recent reviews before I paid for a 2-night stay. Upon arrival, the guy at the front desk was friendly during check-in. It was after midnight when I got there so I didn't really pay attention to much... just wanted to get in bed. The room wasn't bad at first glance, though it was really run down. I laid down and kept feeling something crawling on me. I thought it was my imagination at first because I was exhausted after just spending 10 hours in the car. I decided to get up and take a shower to try to relax. I turned the water on and immediately large chunks of paint came off the tub some kind of red stain. Not going to say it was blood, but it was only in one area of the tub and was about the same shade... nothing in the room had red paint. I got out of shower and back in bed and started feeling something biting me. I got up, turned light on, and inspected bed. Not only did I find fleas, but I saw that the sheets were dirty! By this time, the sun was coming up and I was no longer interested in sleep. I went down to front desk to advise of situation. The room didn't have carpeting so I told the guy I just wanted all the linens changed, including curtains and pillows, instead of changing rooms. I went back upstairs and stripped both beds, including the bed skirts. While waiting, I attempted to dry my hair with hair dryer. As soon as I picked it up, I found that the cord had a burnt spot and the wires were exposed.... decided to air dry instead... It was around 630am when I reported the issue and I had planned to leave by 730 or 8am because it was my only full day I would be there. I was waiting for housekeeping to show up because I wanted to be there to make sure everything was changed out. I went downstairs around 9 am to check the status and was told housekeeping comes in at 9 and they would be up to room by 930. I also mentioned the hair dryer and showed a picture and the girl said she'd have it swapped out. I waited until after 1030 and decided to just leave a note with instructions and hope for the best. Since I had stripped both beds myself, the only things I was worried about were the curtains and pillows. I checked inside of curtains looking for something that I could look at later to verify curtains had been changed and found a grease stain that was an easy marker. I put a couple drops of tea tree oil on the pillows so I could tell if they got swapped too. I came back later that evening to find 2 clean beds, but upon inspection, found the curtains and pillows were the same, as well as the hair dryer. I decided to leave it alone since it was my last night and already getting late. Early the next morning, I felt something on me. I jumped up and pulled covers back to find 3 fleas. I was done at that point and began packing to go home. I mentioned all the issues during checkout, advising the room still had fleas and a fire hazard for a hair dryer. I got "I'm sorry to hear that." No price adjustment, no offer to try to make situation right, no nothing. I found fleas in all of my luggage after I got home and there are bites ALL OVER MY BODY. I would not recommend this place to anyone, under any circumstances.

    • Do not stay here

      Reviewed 30 August 2019

We were on the 4th floor and water was leaking from the floor above us. The front desk acted like it wasn't a big deal. They tried to cover the mold with a strong chemical smell. Pretty view but that's it.

    • Great Location

In my reviews I always try to give venues the benefit of the doubt. With that said, The Inn is not a 5 star resort but its a safe, perfectly located hotel. Pros - Great location. 1-5 minute walk to popular restaurants, etc - All staff we encountered were very friendly - Located on the harbor Cons - Breakfast needs extended hours; ends too early - Although appears to have been recently renovated, still needs some TLC Overall Although its not what we are accustom to staying in, I would recommend it. We would stay here again for the price, location and friendliness of the staff.

    • Being Renovated, Poor Housekeeping

      Reviewed 07 August 2019

The Inn in Destin Harbor is in a great location! The rooms overlook Destin Harbor. However, the inn is undergoing some MUCH needed renovations. The bed was very comfortable! Housekeeping staff needs training. We stayed there 3 days and our bed was only made once! We had to ask for towels the second day. Never replaced soap or shampoo. Floor was never swept. Our room had a roach problem... not palmetto bugs, cockroaches! The windows in the lobby by the front desk, which look out over the harbor, have smears and finger prints all over them. No one cleaned the windows the entire 3 days we were there! Staff is super nice, just not trained properly. They are glad to do anything you ask, but you must ask!! Once the renovations are complete, and the staff is trained, this inn really has the potential to be a great boutique inn!
