    • Awesome place !!!!

This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. I would give it 10 stars if possible. Friendly staff. Very helpful. The rooms are decorated beautifully. They even upgraded our room. The breakfast was delicious also.

    • bedbug plus wildly unreasonable manager

      Reviewed 30 July 2019

If it were possible to give this place a zero, I would. I booked a four-night stay with Jennifer, a very welcoming and friendly front desk clerk. In the middle of the first night, I was awakened by itchiness, found a bedbug in the bed, killed it, showed the corpse to desk clerk Dax (very polite; apologetic; accommodating), who at 3:30 AM found me another room and helped me move my belongings to it. I was so disgusted from finding the bedbug, and so awakened from moving all my belongings, that I could not sleep, but at least I was in a different room. I later called the manager, Jesse Burkes, who said I would be reimbursed for that night, but also told me that I must leave the hotel immediately(!) This was shocking. Burkes said normal checkout is at noon, but that he would extend it to 1:00 PM as a courtesy. I responded that it was 11:48, and that I needed time to pack and find other accommodations. Burkes responded very aggressively that if I was not gone by 1:00, he would have the Johnson Police (This place is not in Springdale, but it is listed as such.) remove me. After some further discussion, he relented and "allowed" me time to find a room elsewhere, and changed the deadline to 3:00 PM. Burkes knew that I had shown the dead bedbug to Dax, but never asked to see it. I was not able to do any of my planned activities that day because I had only slept for a total of two hours and had to spend time looking for a hotel. My entire day was shot. I called Choice Hotels to report this. Several days later, Choice Hotels sent an email saying that they were sorry about the experience, but did not offer compensation in the form of reward points, or any other form of compensation. I emailed them to ask for points, but they never responded. One more thing - The manager's very surprising demand that I leave immediately is probably due to his personal bias. If you are not part of the predominant religious faith of this area, I strongly suggest that you stay at a "non-denominational" hotel.

This is a historic grist mill built in 1835. Room was spacious, spotless and quiet. Wine and cheese happy hour was a nice surprise. We will plan on staying here again when in the area! Staff was efficient and friendly.

    • Last minute sweet spot!

      Reviewed 14 July 2019

I did think this was going to be a historic inn in an original building, I saw one pic and was sold. I didnt look carefully enough and it turned out to be a brand new modern hotel. Once we got into the hotel We Noticed the extra special touches and started to become impressed! The bed was 5 star, we didnt have a chance to see the breakfast... when they said it ends at 9:00 they meant it! So it was worth the NEW experience!
