Very interesting piece of history and the tours are hosted by volunteers, many of whom worked in J Ward. Great way to spend a couple of hours getting an insight into Victorias history

J Ward behind formidable walls was a very interesting place. The tour guide was excellent with lots of stories. We found the video very informative and it must have been a hard life compared with today's prisoners' lives. The kitchen which was underground was of great interest.

I came here and did a Ghost Tour which was a below average tour (but that's another review). I found J ward a very interesting place. As this place was apparently still operating in the late 90's, which is fairly recent. everything is still there. The only thing I didn't like was they had these white mannequin man statues to show what people may have been doing back in the day such as someone about to be hanged. I found this to look quite trashy. Although, the video they played at the end of the Ghost Tour which was real footage of Inmates out in the court yard was the best part the whole experience.
