    • Relaxed in Tuscany

We only stayed one night, but really enjoyed the hospitality and the peaceful, relaxing environment. We arrived mid afternoon, and after being settled into our room, enjoyed a welcome drink in the courtyard. As the sun went down, we walked down the dirt road and found a hill to view the awesome scenery and watch the sunset behind the tuscan hills. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We dined in that night with another couple and were treated to an amazing 4 course degustation dinner. The food and wines for each course were amazing, and an enjoyable evening was had by all. Our hosts Katia & Fulvio were delightful, and a wealth of local knowledge. We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I highly recommend Il Vicario

This stay was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Relaxing, beautiful scenery and terrific hosts. Flavio and Katia. Flavio was always attentive during our 3 night stay in helping us find things to do. We did not take the cooking class, but sorry we didn't. Flavio and his family also have Olive Groves and we did buy their Olive Oil. Short drive to San Girmignano. It has a heavy influx of tourists, we much preferred Volterra about 20 minutes away. Not as crowded.

    • Il Vicario cooking class was the highlight of our Italy vacation...

If I could give the cooking class at Il Vicario more than 5 stars I would! It was the absolute highlight of our three week vacation. We spent almost 4 hours with Fulvio, learning to cook everything from bruschetta to homemade pasta to dessert. His niece Katia was teaching a second class downstairs with a family so we got undivided attention. His explanations of the history of where Tuscan/Italian food came from, to stories of his life and adventures, to the incredibly delicious meal that we prepared and ate, we cant say enough about this class. We did the advanced class which allowed us to cook two fresh pasta dishes (with sauces from scratch), a bruschetta and cheese tasting, jump in your mouth chicken and finally tiramisu. All paired with wines for each course. Thank you Fulvio for sharing your kitchen with us!!

We only stayed one night but we loved it. Fulvio and Katia are very nice and welcoming people. We also booked advanced cooking class and we enjoyed it a lot. If you think which one you should do - I would definitely recommend advanced even if you are not a great cook. Katia will always adjust to your tempo. Everything we learned was so easy and nice that now we are cooking only Italian cuisine at home. Thank you a lot.

I had done a lot of research to find the right Tuscan cookery class for part of one of my Unique and Exquisite trips and I loved the sound of Il Vicario but...the reality was so much more! Words cant capture the love, fun and dedication that this uncle and niece team bring to what they do. We made so much delicious Tuscan food too with Katia showing us how simple it all can be. Bruschetta, fresh pasta, saltimbocca, tiramisu, and tastings of cheese, olive oil and wine - it was all fantastico!! Thank you Fulvio and Katia
