    • Relaxing in the sun

We chose the hotel because it was away from the coast and set amongst palm trees. Beautiful hotel very crisp marble features inside and well laid out. Accommodation set in the grounds in bungalows. Very clean and spacious with full facilities. Air conditioners very important as the temperature hit the mid thirties in late September. Staff very attentive and work really hard. We found some very good restaurants locally a few in glorietta square better than most. On site restaurant recommended if you like more complex dishes but as they sat outside in evening Midges were an issue. There is an air conditioned restaurant and cafe. Would recommend for relaxing holiday . Only drawback we found was lack of English spoken. But many nationalities welcomed here.

Set among palm trees we enjoyed a tranquil stay in one of the bungalow styled rooms of this 4star hotel. The service was discreet and friendly and the enthusiastic and smiling breakfast staff deserve a special mention! Our room was large and restful and the communal areas were spacious and calm. It felt almost like a retreat.

Had a holiday within a holiday and stayed here the night, last night - great to be able to walk into Elche for its restaurants and shops. The best hotel breakfast I have had in European hotel, so much choice, really lovely. Check in was slightly shambolic, dont think their system was working correctly. Check out was slow too. Nice bedroom and staff. Lovely, if a little chilly swimming pool. I will definitely return.

Pros: Lovley place, clean everywhere. Staff were friendly and respectful. Had a nice pool and a great mix of visitors from all over the world. Breakfast had loads of choice. Cons: expensive for spa but there is an inpedendent spa oppersite which is amazing but non English speaking, called Hermes Wellness Centro . The bar is expensive and doesn't have a big cocktail choice. The hotel needs more signs for direction. They did have 3 big weddings on when we arrived which made it hard to relax but they all left by lunch the next day. This is a pacel for calm and relax, not to left go and be crazy and free. It's all so seriuos

    • Complete lack of caring for guests

I was looking after a big group of friends using this hotel last year. A minor criticism was that, during our stay, the front-of-house staff were surprisingly slow. They had to check almost everything with an unseen person in an inner office. What was worse, though, was the experience of organising a drinks reception in the garden, which I started to do months in advance. The date and price of the party (drinks and tapas nibbles) were confirming (in writing) as 35 euro per person but after I'd paid 200 euros deposit, the hotel put the price up by 2 euros per person. They also said the earliest start time was 8.30pm as the kitchen opened then. When I protested they said there had been an "involuntary misunderstanding" about the price - even when I sent a copy of the email exchange - and when I begged to have drinks and cold nibbles like nuts and crisps earlier and hot tapas from 8.30pm they refused. When the time came, the staff only STARTED putting out the glasses, drinks and tapas at 8.30pm. Tapas were meant to be labelled so you could know what you were eating (important for some who had food intolerances) but the part of the garden where the food was served had such poor lighting and by 8.45-ppm it was so dark that nobody could read what the labels said. The lack of concern for guests was amazing. Beautiful gardens and lovely chalet bedrooms among the palms.
