Hotel is just lovely. The lobby is beautiful and the breakfast is to die for each day. The staff was helpful and walking distance to everything. We stayed for two nights. Restaurants are very accessible and the town is so welcoming

After a day's travel, we were very pleased to have booked at this hotel. The room was large with tastefully decorated furniture. The breakfast was very satisfying and ample. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodated our early departure by opening up the dining area 1/2 hour early. When our early departure made it difficult to catch the bus to the train station in the nearby town, the hotel's receptionist negotiated a taxi fare plus our already purchased bus tickets for 30 euros instead of the 25 euros per person.

    • Loved Gubbio, but hotel could do better.

There was nothing dreadfully wrong with this hotel, but compared to the wonderful hospitality and facilities we received at our other hotels on our holiday in Italy this one was rather lacking. We asked at reception whether we could leave the car outside, we pointed to where it was and were told it would be fine. When we got back to the hotel we were told we must move it, and we were lucky we didn't get a parking ticket. I paid for upgraded rooms, which I thought meant there would be a lift, but this wasn't correct, and we had to make our way up the two flights of stairs, with several suitcases and bags, no one offered to help. The air-con which the upgraded rooms was supposed to have didn't work at night. The free toiletries turned out to be a sachet of shampoo and one bar of soap. The doors needed stoppers, as they were so noisy as they banged against the wall, and the lighting was so poor I gave up trying to read. Breakfast was adequate, and the dining room was beautiful. We also sat out in the garden which was nice.

    • I cannot understand the 1 star people....

PART 1: Service: Negative and Positive -Negative: When we arrived, we had two people bringing up three large luggage. The receptionist just watched us struggle. Nobody was exceptionally kind or went out of their way to make our visit better. -Positive: Our room was always cleaned, the reception was always kind and helpful, and they helped us get a map, got us tickets for a Gubbio tour, gave good suggestions, and knew what to do. PART 2: The Room -Negative: We didn't know how to get the AC to work, the single bed had no access to see the TV or a bedside table or a lamp. The toilet was too high, the shower walls did not block water, and the shower had no place to hold soap and toiletries. -Positive: The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the TV worked, the Mini Fridge was great, and they had a desk. The view wasn't the best one, but it brought in lots of lovely air in the hot summer. PART 3: The Location and Amenities -Negative: The Location was quiet, but not ideal. It was not attached to the city center, making coming and going difficult, mainly because Gubbio has no escalators or other systems as such. The Bidet was partially broken, so water went everywhere. -Positive: There was a great vending machine, an elevator, ramps everywhere, and god lamps. The Location, though all of the negatives previously mentioned, was close to many important things outside the city center. It was right on Piazza 40 Martiri, a critical center to leave and enter Gubbio. It also had much available parking lots close to the Hotel. Overall, my visit was positive. The Negative things were minimal, and this hotel was just another part of my great visit to Gubbio.
