The staff at the San Luca are all 1st class very helpful and helped make our stay a pleasure, the breakfast is great and the restaurant La Nona Musa even better, there is also a Bar with casual snacks and a great Pizzeria too. The hotel is conveniently located just outside Battipaglia and has easy access to Salerno, the Amalfi coast and the Cilento coast further south. Parking is convenient and the hotel staff can help plan day trips and even order you in some Mozzarella from great local suppliers, We stayed here for a wedding which was nearby and even though the wedding wasn't hosted at the Hotel the staff went out of their way to help all the guests, look forward to going back when I'm in the area,

In complex near pool. Nice large room with two doors. Front door to car park and hotel, rear to pool. Rooms clean, TV aerial lead detach from plug, advised at desk but not fixed for 3 day stay. Food in coffees hop and Restaurant very good. Set 20euro menu well worth it with aperitif, 2 from 3 courses, a desert, 1/4 bottle of wine and coffee. Breakfast good with fresh fruit, cake, cereals., meats and cheeses - best to have barrister made coffee not from machine. Free secure parking. Outdoor ool, wedding fixtures and fittings. Can have health spa treatments. Only negative for business travellers is no gym.

Had a late afternoon meeting in Potenza and was heading to Sorrento, so we picked Hotel San Luca as a half way point to spend the night. Very disappointed. Room: Toilet seat was extremely loose and unstable; no glasses in room but very small flimsy plastic cups hidden in minibar - had to ask reception or would not have found them; only one pillow for each person; air-conditioning did not work initially and needed to be reset. Back of the large desk hid access to electrical outlets; had to move the desk to plug in laptop. Breakfast was substandard for a 4 Star Hotel in Italy. Restaurant: Tables lined up on each side like bunks in a military barracks; no atmosphere. Food was good but meal did not come with what was listed on the menu; ordered the pork loin with candied apples and broccoli, but got peas instead. Asked why? Answer: "The menu is not frozen; you get what the chef has in the kitchen!" Would not stay here again until management wakes up.

Currently in the middle of a 5-night stay at this hotel. So far it seems cold and impersonal, but very clean. Mattress sits directly on a frame so bed is very low and not very comfortable. No insulation between the floors and the people above us sound like they are moving furniture. Staff has been helpful. But cold. I would not want to stay here without a car. Price is low but thinking of moving because this is not enjoyable.
