We love classy older hotels. But only if the interior doesn't show its age in terms of (poor) maintenance ;). Well, that certainly wasn't the case here. The inside is as nice as the outside. So all in all, a cheap (pricewise only) hotel in a perfect spot. And kudos to Marie (don't know how to spell her name), since every tip she gave was spot on!

    • Great Location, poor room servicing

Wonderful old Grand Dame at a great location. Easy walking distance to the best parts of town. A little worn at the edges, but they are working on it. Front desk personnel were helpful and sometimes even fun (Martin). Our room had A/C and blackout curtains, both "must haves" for this time of year. Now the not so good, room maintenance: The bed linens were fine. The shower stall, well, let's just say that we were aware of prior guests. They never refilled the built in liquid soap dispensers, nor did they empty one of the two waste baskets. Their was a heap of dried pigeon poop on the inside of the window that was never cleaned nor did they replenish the coffee supplies. The room (202), as a whole, wasn't bad, but their are larger and better kept ones at the same price point......ask for one.

This is a lovely old Aarhus gem, including the oldest elevator in Scandinavia. We were allotted a small room, but the excellent South African Dane on the front desk sorted out one with a much better bathroom and spent time helping us find restaurants open over Easter. This is full of interesting paintings, gilded decor, good location in Latin Quarter . The breakfast, served in a quasi atrium, could be raised several notches with more imaginative food selection and much better coffee. Third stay here and moving in the right direction.

Our room was very nice, and the location was close to the center of town. I would definitely stay here again. The bathroom was large, with heated floor and a great shower. We checked in on Christmas Day and couldn't find a place to eat, but the clerk worked hard to find a place for us.

The location is very central and in the middle of the local scene with nice restaurants, design shops and the theater. The rooms are nice and either with a city view or in the quiet courtyard. The bigger rooms are quite awesome. Breakfast is nice and there is a fitness room on the first floor. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
