      Currently still at the Catalonia bavaro, the beach and sea you cant fault its amazing, but thats just natural, the hotel is in very nice surroundings but the rooms are very tired and not clean enough for 5* hotel, we have never had to queue to eat at any hotel we have ever been to before some of the waiters are very friendly others are just ignorant, will update when our holiday is over.

    • Okay resort and okay service

      Resort was okay, it has potential to be better. Yuca and Mikado restaurant were my favorite during our stay. The staff there were great!! We looked into this resort as a possibility for our group of 125 guest to stay for our wedding. We were asked to upgrade upon arrival, i explained we were there to look at the family side since is where we would be staying with our family. Gentleman in the front still tried to continue to push us to upgrade to the adults only and went on to say it was only an extra $17 dollars to upgrade (it was not about the money!) We received our room and the tub did not drain, room was dark and two lights were not working. Same gentleman called our room to ask how our room was and inquired again if i changed my mind about upgrading. I told him the tub did not drain and two lights were not working, aside from that room was fine and we would not be upgrading. He was supposed to send someone, never did. I had to call later during the day again in order to get someone. Tub was fixed, lights were not, after the worker being in our room for close to an hour we told him to forget it since we were hungry and wanted to go eat. We went our entire stay with a dark (except during the day) room. All this to say i feel we got a sucky room on purpose to push us over to upgrade. Lastly, there are no designated smoking areas so everywhere you go except inside restaurants, someone is smoking (very uncomfortable for non-smokers with asthma)

      We had a fantastic stay at the Catalonia Punta Cana. The staff were great specially our concierges Modesto, Michael, and Felix. They were attentive and very accommodating. They were always ready to help and assisted in any changes of our plans even last minute were no problem. Also Anna Brito. Was very helpful in coordinating our transportation and excursions. Which made our trip all the more enjoyable. Thank you all for making our stay relaxing and for providing us with a great experience and great memories

      highly recommended hotel. we loved the staff, the beach and entertainment but all staff there were really nice, helpful and friendly, evening shows were great. surroundings were also amazing, eating with animals wandering around was great experience

      We have stayed for 14 nights in July 2019 and I would say that this was the best holiday ever. It didn't started well as the room we were given was well below a 5* resort. I didn't complain as I didn't want to ruin our holiday because of this. On the 6th day staying there when we returned from the beach late in the afternoon we found water coming from bathroom ceiling. I could not accept this and complained at the customer service. We have been moved next day to a privileged building. The room here was up to par and there was nothing to complain about after this. The food was great with good variety The grounds were spotless and the beach AMAZING. Although there was sea grass coming on shore from the ocean, the resort had a team continuously cleaning the beach. You can't fault anybody that the mother nature decides to trow something at us. Overall, we will definitely return here.
