Lovely pub with great food. The manager and team are very attentive and friendly. We also stayed in the hotel which was very clean and again nothing was too much trouble for staff. Would definatly return.

Worst hotel I have stayed in, our first room had an awful smell our second room was better but very very noisy. When we went for our breakfast we were totally ignored by the server, she saw a couple who she new and basically left us to set our table with cups and cutlery while the couple who came in after us she ensured the table was cleared and table was set. We waited a while then she took her time to come over to ask what we would like. I wont be back to this hotel. I loved Masham, it's a lovely market town, with lots of walks and some very nice people. This hotel needs a refurbishment and rooms need sound proofing. Breakfast was awful mushroom had a strange taste, sausage tasted of perfume.

My husband and I love the charming village of Masham and have stayed at the Kings Head several times. We stay in one of the rooms off the courtyard. On our recent visit we felt that the room was looking a bit sad and in need of a revamp and thorough cleaning. If you get a cheap deal then go for it, but it isnt worth paying a lot for, particularly if it is a Saturday. We didnt eat here this time as we have a local Chef and Brewer near home, so it didnt feel like a change and there are several other good pubs in the village which serve good homemade food at a similar price. It has a nice bar and ample free parking, but accommodation lacking that quality which you would expect for the price.

    • Not quite family friendly

Booked for two nights, apparently we had the biggest family room which consisted of a pull out bed in the entrance of the room (not ideal for a 7 year old) and stairs up to the main bedroom. No bedding on the pull out so we had to ask for some , this caused a big sigh from the person in charge....asking to book a table wasnt much better, not a professional attitude. The room wasnt particularly clean anyway. The meal, Sunday roast at over 15 each, wasnt much to write home about, no beef at all and had to return the lamb as over half of the poultry portion was fat.... We appreciate the rooms were dog friendly but having to put up with constant barking all night was a bit much and letting them roam free meant my kid wouldnt come out of her room....cmon people, not everyone likes dogs. All in all I wouldnt go back, might be good for couples but not kid friendly in our opinion.
