      Came here with my boyfriend and we left a bit disappointed. As other reviews say, there's potential for it to be a great hotel, but it's just a bit of a let down really. ROOM: We stayed on the first floor and our view was of someone else's balcony. It was very dark, poor natural lighting and not enough artifical or well placed lights. Bed was nice and big, not the worst but not the comfiest, pillows were nice and big and fluffy. Plently of wardrobe space and draweres, although you couldn't fully open them because bedside table is in the way. No complaints about cleanliness. The aircon was rubbish, we had to go down three times to ask them to fix it because it would stop working whenever it decided. Sounded like it was on it's last legs so I was glad I'd brought earplugs... BATHROOM: Clean but needs doing up. We had two big patches of damp on the ceiling next to the extractor fan (not sure if that actually worked). Toilet seat was broken so you'd have to balance yourself in the right place otherwise you'll fall down it! I'm only a small size 10 girl so it doesn't matter how light you are, it'll move both ways! Not best water pressure in the shower but gets the job done. FOOD: We only had breakfast, can't really fault it but there wasn't a huge selection of choice. Coffee & juice machines were fine. Some cheese and cold meat on offer but we didn't try that so can't say. Few different breads and pastries which were nice, bog standard fry up options which were also quite nice, and fresh fruit was good. Regular cereals were also fine. STAFF: Again, as other reviews have stated, some of the staff aren't great. Out of those we dealt with, Diablo and Christiano (sorry if they're not spelt right) were the only ones who did a really good job at being helpful and making you feel welcome. They were so friendly towards us and Diablo (at the bar) made us great drinks and spoke to us the whole time we were at the bar. He also came and shook our hand and introduced us to his very sweet son when we left. The other staff seemed uninterested, part of this could be that they weren't very strong at speaking English which is fair enough. But when we came down to say that our hotel door had been left open by the cleaners (!!!) they couldn't give a poo (I would swear if I could). It was as if they didn't understand why we were telling them this. Luckily we had all valuables in the safe but that's not the point, anybody in that hotel could have wandered into our room and taking anything else they liked the look of. POOL: Small pool area and only gets the sun in the afternoon. The weather wasn't good enough for us to use it but looks like it would have been fine when the sun hits, and looked clean. LOCATION: Not a bad location, 5 minute walk to the beach and loads of restaurants to choose from. Quarteria seemed more geared to locals which is no issue of course, but can sometimes make you feel a bit unwelcome as foreigners. Vilamoura Marina is about a 30 min stroll - lovely area and more options. Overall - if we were going to come back to this area, we would find another hotel and listen to the reviews.

      Pool area is not nice, bins emptied not daily, or even 3 days in a row I saw same rubbish in the bins at the pool area. Food menu after hours is very poor, drinks bar unatended unleast you will ask in reception and they will call a barman, one girl that worked at the bar didn't know english. Rooms are small, but comfortable. The only terrible thing about the room was wardrobe. Very small and the safe was fitted in the wardrobe, so I couldn't hang my dresses beacause only short things you can hang there. My dresses were hanging all over the room, on windows, dorrs and etc. No place to hang to dry socks or underpats. I was not going to use expensive laudry service. The best thing was all working staff. Very friendly, polite and helpful.

      This hotel was very reasonably priced and conveniently located near to the beach and a bus terminal. Rooms are modern and clean but small and most are without a balcony. The pool area is fine and when we visited was quiet with plenty of sun beds and space. Breakfast was ok - a range of hot and cold options: fruit, cereal, pastries, eggs, cheese the standard stuff you would expect. It was also available from 7:00 until 10:00 which is extremely reasonable. The restaurant and cleaning staff were impeccable. The disappointing thing is the reception service - we arrived a day later than planned due to missing our flight and had called ahead to inform the hotel of our delayed arrival. We landed around lunchtime, ate in Faro and caught a bus to Quarteira arriving well after the 2pm check in time. Upon arrival there was a little fuss as the gentleman on reception muttered that he needed to make a change. I explained that we had meant to arrive the day before. He acknowledged this but still continued to mutter and was very flustered. He was the only member of staff I could see and a queue began to form. He said had to change our room and the new room was not ready. He said it would be an hour so we left our bags in a luggage room and went for a walk. When we came back after an hour, the room still wasnt ready so we waited in the seating area by the bar. We usually have no problem waiting but this was a room that was supposed to be ready 24 hours earlier. Finally at around 4:30 we got a key card for our room. Unfortunately when we got to our room it didnt work so we had to return to reception to get it re-activated. This was not the last of the problems with reception. We requested to borrow an iron; a request which has never been a problem in any of the hotels we have stayed in throughout Europe. There was no iron but there was an ironing service, however the timescales for this were dependent on the housekeeper and how busy they were. The receptionist called housekeeping to check how long and we were told it would be the same day so we left a few items which we intended to wear that evening for dinner. Upon our return the receptionist had changed and knew nothing about our clothes but said any pressing request would be available the following day. As we had booked a nice restaurant for that evening we were disappointed but decided to try and make the best of it - we were on holiday after all. A call to our room a little while later asked if we had requested housekeeping - misunderstanding I said yes thinking it was regarding the clothes and we went to reception to collect. The receptionist said housekeeping was going to clean our room as requested. I explained that I had misunderstood and that cleaning was not necessary but asked again about the clothes. We were told (without any checking) that it would be ready the following day and treated with a rather dismissive attitude. When we returned to our room, the pressed clothes were there! It appeared that there had been no communication at all amongst staff. This incompetence to complete the basic expectations was something that makes all the difference to your relaxation and enjoyment of your holiday. On the morning of our final day we requested use of the sauna/Turkish bath for the afternoon as it stated on all literature that this had to be booked in advance. We were told that it was out of use awaiting repair - Im not sure how long this had been the case but it was again disappointing to not have access to this facility which I am sure contributes to the hotels 4star rating. Overall it was not terrible, on paper this could be classed as a decent four star accommodation but in terms of actual experience it is severely lacking. This experience out of season would make me think twice about booking during the summer when all rooms were full.

      Found the hotel on booking.com at first wasnt sure from the photos but turned out to be an excellent hotel, easy check in, very well maintained hotel in all areas the breakfast was superb with lots of choice and a great standard of coffee and orange, we got a great room with view, the room was modern and the bed very comfortable, nice water with fruit on reception, in a very safe area and across road from bus station paid 4.50 each way for bus to Albufeira, is a 20 minute walk to the Vilamoura marina, can get Uber for around 4.50 to Maria. Would highly recommend to anyone.

      Quarteira Sol hotel Hotel Reception staff were very friendly.The rooms were large & very clean & the maids worked very hard doing their job.Plenty of choice to eat at Breakfast which was excellent.The hotel was in a good location only 100m from the sandy Beach & nice level Promenade for walking.The shopping area with all the Restaurants & bars. we will definately be going there again
