We stayed at Posada San Juan for two nights during our stay in Valladolid. We got the opportunity meet the owners, Alfredo and Sara, a lovely Mexican couple with many ongoing fantastic hospitality projects! For Posada San Juan, their first project, they wanted to build a hotel concept that would highlight quality and authenticity, which they finely succeeded at! they transformed this cute typical Mexican hacienda into a charming boutique hotel of only 8 rooms, giving a very private and homey experience to their guests, with a perfect level of service given by their professional and very kind staff! Dont miss the chance to eat at their restaurant and taste on of their delicious cocktails by the pool or at the bar! Gabriel, the hotel manager, is also very friendly and helpful in recommending you the best cenotes and restaurants around Valladolid - making you stay even more exceptional! We look forward to coming back and stay longer (2 nights are clearly not enough) and experience the cenote tour Alfredo is thinking of proposing to the hotel guests!

Visited here with a couple of friends after my year abroad in Mexico. Was everything you wanted, nice comfortable beds, friendly staff, good location and tasty food on offer as well. Would definitely stay here if I was to return to Valladolid.

We arrived as a family of 10 persons, occupying three rooms ... most of the first floor of this hotel. The building is attractive and beautifully restored, and is just close enough to downtown to be convenient, but not so close as to be noisy. The garden/pool area is very beautiful, and is maintained perfectly by the staff. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. Each has a hammock, which makes for a relaxing "sit" before bed. The bathrooms are large, and are comfortably set up with counter space and separation of sink from toilet from shower. The breakfast, which is included, is nice--a small table of basics (fruit, yoghurt, bread, pancakes, jelly, etc.), coffee and tea, and then eggs/omelets made to your order. Perhaps most amazing is the staff. Maria Jose, when we arrived, noticed that we were being charged adult rates for the three children in the group by hotels.com, with which we had made the reservation. I would not have noticed, and she easily could have let that get by. Rather, she pointed it out, which reduced the cost of our stay by more than $200. Gabriel provided a series of recommendations about where to go, which in each case resulted perfectly--his suggestions of cenotes were spot on, and made for a great end to our days. In sum, this is an attractive hotel with a ton of personality. It is not the cheapest hotel in Valladolid, but I cannot imagine a way that it is not the best, nicest, and best-run. Bravo!

    • Amazing place!

This place is absolutely amazing, probably the best place out of four places we stayed at during our 2 weeks holidays in Mexico. The location is great (walking distance to center), there is parking, the rooms (we had room nr 8) are great, the building is renovated but with colonial style, the place is kept super clean, the breakfast is great, recommendations are awesome etc! We enjoyed this place and Valladolid. The only thing that didn't work was the internet during the days we were there (hence the 4 star instead of 5 star rating), the owner mentioned it happens every now and then in Valladolid that internet is down.

Can't say enough about how wonderful this little hotel is. This hotel felt like a home with beautiful personality and we really enjoyed our time here. The breakfast, the rooms, the pool and a lovely barman Ismail. We could have stayed for many more days. A great place to stop and recuperate.
