Not sure how this place still has an average of 4 stars. We arrived a few hours before check-in so we hung out at the restaurant. The server brought the menu but didnt explain they were only offering a few things. We attempted to order but then were told to just get tacos... so we did. They were ok. There was a huge vein that killed our appetite. The next morning, we were woken at 7am by construction, such as banging and drilling. We got up and told the receptionist, who sincerely apologized. The noise stopped and we returned back to sleep. At 10am we went to the restaurant to try to enjoy the free breakfast but instead, got blown off for nearly two hours. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked the bartender for coffee since none of the servers paid attention to us. He said ok, turned around and started washing a mug with his hand in a dirty dish basin. I thought that he was going to serve us coffee, but when he saw us still standing, just told us to sit down and wait. Aside from the bartender, there were three other servers. We asked two of them for coffee - both said yes but never brought anything. We asked the third server for coffee, he asked if we were staying at the hotel. We said yes, and he brought coffee and pineapple juice quickly. We got one croissant each and thought we were finally getting breakfast (jokes on us). After another twenty minutes of waiting, it was 12pm and we were starving, so we left to just go buy ourselves lunch (so no, we didnt eat breakfast). Two large families sat after us, ate and left before we even got coffee. Countless couples and two backpackers who just strolled up from the beach had been served and left. There was no recognition of their neglect to serve or even acknowledge us. We thought wed rent some bikes to ride into town to get food. We were told it would be about 10 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting, we told the receptionist we didnt need the bikes and would just drive ourselves. Its now 12:30pm, 90 degrees and we are still hungry. Two or three guys sit outside the gate during the day. They are not the bellboys, so Im not sure why they are there or why the hotel lets them loiter in front. When exiting the hotel to finally get food, I waved and said hola but they just stared at me like I was saying bad words to them. I was charged for three nights and only stayed for two. Its been about one week and I havent received a refund for the night we did not stay. The two receptionists were nice, but there is a huge disconnect between them and the rest of the hotel. They have no capability to actually remedy the issues, so although they are friendly, Id prefer to eat breakfast and receive a refund for the night we did not stay. Smiles and apologies can only go so far. Oh! And upon check out, the receptionist told us there was food on our tab that we hadnt paid for. When we told her we didnt order anything, she seemed skeptical, but eventually agreed to not charge us for food we didnt order. There should be a notification for guests that construction is taking place on the property and the staff should have some common sense to not drill and bang anywhere near an occupied room at 7am. Its obvious Poc-na doesnt really care about the guests experience as long as they get their money. The hotel is a little cheaper than those in the area, but the money saved is not worth the discomfort and unapologetic staff.

The hotel is a wonderful secluded estate, you would think the only cabana in the hotel was your own, you cannot see the other cabanas from anywhere, this is a feeling I will never forget. Being alone in the jungle in a Posh! room! Once you walk arround, the other areas appear as if in a fairy tale, one by one, the caribbean sea water color the resaturant and a wonderfully arranged area on the beach front with very comfortable personal shaded again Posh couches. The service at the restaurant was flawless. We are sure to return in the near future.

Staff is incredibly courteous, friendly, and polite. This beachfront property has plenty of space to lay in front of the beach, enjoy an ice cold drink, and retreat by the sea. The hotel rate includes a traditional Mexican breakfast a la carte, that is delicious. We sat by the beach in the morning, soaked up the sun, and felt the cool breeze as we ate. The hammocks in the balconies are an added plus. I enjoyed a nap there a couple of times on my vacation. Parking on the property is available with all night security. Each room has A/C and a beautiful waterfall shower. I highly recommend this for couples, and families traveling with children. Its a getaway retreat in the national park of Tulum.
