This is a gem of a Hotel. The owners Elizabeth and Loris are delightful. The staff all seem happy ,helpful and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Palace Hotel to anyone, whilst the current owners are in residence and long may that be!.....They are a great team, both with an eye to detail that makes the Palace what it is, rather special. My one reservation would be the pillows, l am not easy to please and l like a plumptious pillow as a rule, that said l slept well whilst l was there! Whilst back home l dream of going back one day!

We visited during the recent heatwave. Our room, thanks to the super-efficient aircon which we used carefully and judiciously, became a cool haven at the press of a button. Furthermore the room was sparkling clean, nicely decorated with ample storage space, and bedding, towels and gowns of luxury cotton, We stayed 'half board' but could choose between lunch and dinner each day. We chose dinner and enjoyed immensely the Ligurian menu. Friendly and efficient staff dealt with my food allergies/intolerances in a calm and pleasant manner so that I wasn't made to feel awkward, and often provided a 'safe' alternative. Using the sun terrace, on the roof, enabled us to acclimatise to the heat until we were ready to use the beach where the hotel has an arrangement allowing us a 30% discount for the use of umbrellas and sunbeds. I cannot praise the hotel too much... our stay was perfection. I only hope that we can visit again. Many thanks .

    • Excellent hotel, pity about the owner

This lovely hotel is situated on the sea front at the western end of the town. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, with some of them having balconies fully or laterally overlooking the sea. A fitness room and rooftop sunbathing are available. There is an extensive choice of food for breakfast whilst the evening meals were delicious and well presented. The only drawback was the attitude of the authorititive, despotic female owner.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and although the room we had was different to the first one, it was very comfortable and well appointed. Elizabeth and Loris gave us a warm welcome and pointed out that, although we had thought we'd booked for b&b only, we were in fact on a half board basis. Diano Marina has number of nice restaurants which we wanted to visit for dinner, so we plumped for lunch in the hotel. The food is very nice, the only slight problem being that the choice of dishes for lunch must be made during breakfast and pondering stewed culltlefish at 9am is not really our thing! Dinner is served promptly at 7.30pm, I had thought that dining hours would be a bit more flexible during the summer months and we might be able to eat a little later, but no, so I'm glad we chose lunch over dinner. I would still highly recommend this well run, extremely comfortable hotel and would go back in the future.

This hotel is used by many group holiday parties. It is just on the outskirts of the town. The walk into town is flat along the promenade. The hotel does not have its own private beach, but there are many private beaches along the prom. You pay to hire a lounger and umbrella. Most of these private beach areas have a cafe/snack bar. The sand is of variable quality! Some of the rooms have a sea view. The lobby is an inviting area - clean, modern with comfortable chairs. There is also a small bar area. There is a lift in the hotel. The restaurant at breakfast has an extensive menu - continental - including cheeses, meats, boiled eggs, a variety of breads, pastries, fresh and tinned fruit, fruit juice, cereals, toast with various jams etc. Breakfast is served from 8am. Dinner is served at 7.30 and has to be preordered at breakfast time. There are NO tea/coffee making facilities. Take your own kettle. The WiFi signal is very good and is free. The bedrooms have fridges. You have to pay for anything you drink from the fridge. Rooms are en-suite with showers. The walls between rooms are very thin and need to have more insulation. Near the hotel is a nightclub which seems to open at the weekend and its b***** noisy well into the early hours!
