    • Lovely oasis just far enough from Ronda!

      Reviewed 18 October 2019

After a week exploring the bigger cities in Andalucia, we were ready for a change of scenery. This hotel was just what we hoped it would be, lovely, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We had room 7, the suite with two bedrooms and the outdoor tub on the rooftop terrace. What a treat, especially with a nearly full moon as a backdrop. The location was ideal for exploring the white hill towns, and it was close enough to Ronda to get in and out for dinner, but far enough away from the crowds of tourists. Once you settle in for an afternoon siesta, it's pretty hard to leave. We dined at the hotel 2 of our 3 nights. While I wish an a la carte menu of lighter/casual options was available in the evenings, we did enjoy our dinners. The kitchen was able to accommodate my request for just soup one evening, which was appreciated. And the breakfasts, well, let's just say, don't skip them! The croissants were a highlight! We found the staff to be friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Both Miguel and Javier had been especially responsive in my pre-trip communication. We met Gina, Christina and Pom towards the end of our stay, and it was wonderful to see the photos of the "before" Christina created this hotel. All in all, just a great place to spend a few days as part of your Andalucia exploration.

    • Average service for the price

      Reviewed 14 October 2019

The room itself was very nice but the general service was very average for the price we paid. You'd expect some sort of personalized service for over 200 euros a night at a family owned property, at least a genuine greeting. However, we didn't get offered any help when we mentioned some accident happened to our trip and no gift/gesture whatsoever (not even a celebration drink) when we mentioned it was our honeymoon trip. We had some problems with the room one night but the one person who picked up the phone couldn't even speak any English. It was a nice room nice property but the service was disappointing which is the most important thing to distinguish yourself from the rest hundreds of nice properties out there, at a lower price. Also, for a premium room, there was no breakfast and dinner was also overly priced.

    • Tranquility and hospitality

      Reviewed 14 October 2019

This beautiful countryside retreat is excellent in so many ways. With true hospitality and tranquility being harder and harder to find in a country saturated with tourists, this hotel provides both. While not opulent, there is a warmth and attention to detail that many larger hotels lack. We especially appreciated the restaurant recommendations and the late checkout. Excellent bed, great A/C. My wife and I hope to come back with our families for a longer stay, and we strongly recommend it.

    • A beautiful respite with the best service ever!

      Reviewed 29 September 2019

After alot of walking and taking in the sights of Portugal and Spain...we stopped here and never left the hotel! What a beautiful place to take a break...the weather was a little overcast so while we did not use the pool...we used the time for respite and relaxation! Our servers were delightful and very responsive and our "host" Javier was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious...the rooms were spacious and lovely and we spent our 35th wedding anniversary here-in paradise! I enjoyed the best in room massage I have ever had and this is saying something as I have wonderful massages back home. This hotel is a must!

We had our wedding reception at the lodge which is attached to the hotel. From the moment we met Gina, who was excited as we were about our wedding!, we knew the venue was a perfect fit. The lodge & the hotel like the staff are relaxed elegance. Pablo, the head chef, creates wonderful exciting dishes. Everyone at the wedding commented on how amazing the food was and each dish was a show stopper! Pom & Tina, owners of the hotel/lodge, are also wonderful. They are so welcoming, kind and have amazing stories! All the staff are phenomenal! We cant thank their whole team enough for the perfect wedding. Nothing was a problem. We loved working with them throughout our wedding journey! It was just the best few days we have ever had.
