Hotel is very average. Equipmemt is little too old. There is no elevator and no air condition in rooms. They are dog friendly. With parking was no problem. Reception is open till 22:00, but they are able to let you key on reception. With breakfast there is very small choice - almost no fruit and vegetable. Personal was very nice.

    • Decent hotel and restaurant

Stayed here for one night when we were on a cycle touring trip on the Elbe. The hotel could not have been better placed for the trip. It's right on the route as you go into Decin. We had a good room, although quite dated. It was clean and well appointed. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was nice, but nothing special. The servings were huge. I had pasta and it could have served two people! The staff were friendly and attentive.

    • "The hotel with no phone"

      Reviewed 07 September 2017

Things got off to a bad start, as we found the receptionist on duty, when we checked in, to be less than friendly. Perhaps a little training would help. We had a nice room, but the curtains were too small and didn't meet. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower was a disaster, with the temperature alternating between "very hot" or "very cold" every so many seconds. It's the first hotel I've ever stayed in with no phone !

    • Excellent hotel for Short stay.

    • Too much was wrong

I wanted to like this hotel, I really did. It is on the river bank next to boathouses and the restaurant and bar are popular with locals. The owner has been expanding it for years and is clearly investing in it. The receptionist even spoke English. However ... the bathroom was modern and efficient-looking, but the shower only operated for 10 seconds at a time when a button was pressed. I never stayed at a youth hostel in the 1960s, but I'm guessing they had similar arrangements. Not only do you have to keep pressing a stiff button with soapy hands, but the water temperature never gets chance to stabilise with all the shutting off and on, so you get a shower that varies from cold to hot every 10 seconds as well as zero flow to full force. On top of that, the drain was semi-blocked and the shower only had a fixed overhead rose. They obviously aren't too concerned about saving water though, because there was no plug in the wash basin - we found it on Day 2 in the cupboard underneath. We stayed 2 nights but didn't get a visit from the chambermaids. When we returned to our room to change for dinner on the first night at 8pm they were still working their way along the corridor, but they never made it as far as our room - clearly understaffed. Other quibbles: flimsy curtains that didn't block out the light (important when travelling in high summer), lethally sharp-cornered cupboards above the bed, and restaurant staff who really weren't interested in accommodating a couple of residents when they had a room full of beer-swilling, chain-smoking locals to deal with.
