I stayed here recently with a group and had a very good experience. It is an easy 10 minute walk from the train station, and less than 10 minutes from the marina and other cute parts of town. The room was clean and welcoming--I loved the slippers when I got in from a long trip! Good breakfast too. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was perfectly located and well equipped but what made this hotel stand out was their amazing staff especially the head receptionist, Francesco. He was so accommodating and helpful and spoke english very well. We arrived at 11 am and he had our car valeted, took our luggage to hold on too an told us he would get our room ready within the hour. When we asked for suggestions he always had delightful ideas to share. Then when we asked to keep the car until 3 the day of check out they didn't blink an eye and stored our car in their basement garage the extra 2 hours for us so we could enjoy the day in Portofino. We highly recommend this hotel especially for the price. The decor is delightful to boot and we were provided a yummy breakfast.

Are usually do not grade hotels, but I thought I would this time. I looked for lots of places to stay in this area, and decided on this hotel on a recommendation from my parents. The hotel is three star, but they treat you like five star. The breakfast was good, the hospitality was great, and the location is fabulous. The location is very near to all the nice restaurants. Literally just minutes away from the best restaurants in the area. The train station was easy access, the beach was easy access, everything you need in hotel.

Stayed here for a week on a half board basis. This is a medium sized traditional 5 storey hotel located in a busy residential / retail streets in the attractive resort of Santa Margherite. We had room 311 (a spacious corner room with balcony). The room was clean and had all the necessary fittings expected with a balcony overlooking a very busy junction of 5 roads plus a garage. The interminable scooters / mopeds raced and revved 24/7 - it was difficult to ignore them. Breakfast was a continental affair with scrambled and boiled eggs on most days - but not every day. The food was pleasant enough, but I personally like the savoury, rather than the sweet offerings which will appeal to some people. We ate the evening meal every night which is served on a set table in another room. The menu was somewhat limited to 3 courses and 3 options. However, the same options keep coming around - we had veal on 6 nights out of 7. The desserts are basic and repetitive and you cannot call a 'jam tart' which a 7 year old could have made in school a 'cake'! Overall, we found the evening meals not up to the required standard (if you had paid 30 euros a night). The waiters were attentive and polite, but with only 5 people in the dining room each night (except the first when there was a large tour party) - you could not describe it as a meal to look forward to. It has pluses and minuses and had we been staying on a bed and breakfast basis - it may have scraped 4 stars.

Reception staff were all friendly and helpful, check in and out efficient. Room was clean and refreshed daily. Had a large balcony which came as a surprise and was well used. Even though the room fronted the street there was not too much noise in spite of the fact that the hotel is in a central location, a few minutes walk from the waterfront and many restaurants, supermarkets and delis. The only niggle about the room was the lack of tea/ coffee making facilities. The bathroom was well equipped and of reasonable size except for the shower cubicle that is very tight and water that constantly changes temperature. This was a major irritation. Breakfast was in a pleasant breakfast room and had the stock standard European breakfast buffet. You boil your own eggs but keep a watch as others steal them! Noticed that only the Italians were offered Cappuccinos in the morning. Others had to request a cup. Rather odd behaviour but noticed this over three mornings. Besides the niggles would stay here again.
