CANCELLED WITH THEM & NO REGRETS! Communicated with the staff via whatsapp in April, months ahead for our trip. Mentioned the number of people, number of chalet needed & confirmed we are riding bikes. Paid deposit in Jul to confirm our booking because the first attempt did not go through, Then it became hell when I reconfirmed my booking 29 jul. Our trip was 2Aug to 4Aug. Got an automated reply that they DO NOT accept bookings from MOTORCYCLE GROUP OR CONVOYS. so I reconfirmed that we would be riding (3 motorcycles) and the staff had the cheek to say: Do not be surprised if my boss cancels your booking and returns your money on the spot. He later asked the CC of our bikes and said that big CC bikes can 'be forgiven' because we 'have class'. it wasnt a risk i was going to take since we will be riding in from Singapore and it was a Friday. So i texted him and apologise but we will be cancelling our booking and would like to have our refund back, Then the staff started twisting his words, saying they are ok with motorcycle goups. then he sent a msg saying booking fee not refundable (but they can cancel our booking??) Then he said in a voicenote that when i first made the booking - i did not 'declare' we will be riding motorbikes. then he said, my deposit never came in. I insisted he checked and the next thing I know, he said he mentioned this 'problem' to his boss and his boss agreed to let us stay. at this point i was livid because we are PAYING GUESTS not some homeless vagrants seeking shelter. it came to a point that I had to communicate with the owner of the resort to sort things out. initial offer of a massive discount was rejected because none of us were comfortable with the idea of staying there. We had to make a pitstop to the resort to collect our refund in cash. I will def not recomment this place to anyone - riding or driving. the rules are not clear and no paying traveller should face such uncertainty when making a booking!!!!

I have never bothered to take the time to write a bad review, as I feel like it would take alot to bother me enough to post online critisism. But my god is this place terrible. Mold all over the washroom, the fan almost flew off the ceiling when we turned it on, and the staff were rude when we said we were checking out early. Barely made it through 1 night. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere, as Cherating is a great surf town.

No notice of late check-out charge of RM10 per hour. Only informed upon check-out. Neither was it stated anywhere of these charges; how much. Muddy grounds. Friendly female receptionist though. No toilet paper in room.

The room is poorly maintained, most of the items in the room cant be used.and yet it is super duper overprice. I cant believe i paid such amount of money to be in this bad, worst condition. Will never ever recommended this place! The staff wasnt friendly either. Was a really bad decision to stay here!

    • Top location - pity about the condition

I agree with other reviews of Ranting, which is actually located at Cherating, a 45 minute drive north of Kuantan. It is over-priced for the condition of the "resort". You seem to be paying a premium for the location right on the beachfront. For a room mid-week we got a way better room in a way better hotel - Residence Inn - for 30 RM per day more. The rooms are lightly constructed and shabby, and the place has been allowed to run down, although the aircon works. I won't be staying there again.
