    • Very nice hotel in the centre of the city near the harbour

Very nice hotel in an old building in the centre of the city near the harbour. Big charming room with everything you need. Delicious breakfast served at your table. Friendly people. They provide earbuds because the belfry is nearby and you hear the bells. The room is not very dark in the morning because the curtains hang a bit further from the window so if that bothers you bring a sleeping mask.

We had a great stay at the Hotel de Heeren. The room was lovely...renovated and beautifully decorated...the location was fabulous..right on the water in Veere. Breakfast was terrificlots of food, in fact so much we took some with us to eat later. But the best part of the place was the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and really wonderful. And we had a strange experiencethere was a power failure in the region in the late afternoon, so dinner at the restaurant was all cold entrees... salads and carpaccio, and they were great. The staff went out of their way to make things nice for us...and the power came back on after 2 hours so it didnt affect our hotel night.

    • Nice but doesn't worth the high price.

Located in a nice restored 17 century house in front of the small harbor. We had a room in the third floor, very steep stairs, no elevator. The hotel is small, service is friendly but not so personal as one could expect. Room was modernly innovated but was planned strangely- a huge bathroom and a small room- almost no free spaces at the sides of the bed. Parking is pay public one and not close to the hotel.

    • Good location, friendly Service, disappointed overall

TLDR; Pros+ + fantastic location ( close to parking, view over tiny harbor , close to everything) + friendly and flexible staff ( changed room last minute ) + cool idea for a hotel in such an old mansion + nice large bathtub in our room ( no whirlpool though ) + good variety of breakfast + very quiet Cons - price. For 213 euros I expect more - Cheaply renovated rooms - No room phone / no room service - The smallest TV I have ever seen in a hotel ( for a big room really weird ) - Breakfast was good , but with only 6 rooms, I feel they can provide a more personal touch. Rooms: The rooms are very old, and they have been renovated to give a modern touch. Electric beds and a pretty modern bathroom. However they missed the details, the TV was ridiculously small, no TV would have been better almost. The overall wardrobes and the style just made it seem like the owner wanted to do it quickly without spending much money. It felt strange. The bathroom was nice, a shower and we got the large room with the bath tub. The bathtub was massive and could almost fit 3. Wellness/pool/gym N/a Breakfast/dinner/bar area The breakfast was a typical belgian / Dutch breakfast. Different cheeses and breads, sandwich toppings, hard boiled egg, coffee and juice. I enjoyed it ( my girlfriend at almost nothing ) but for 200 Euros and having 6 rooms; I expect a more personalized touch. They could have given us the choice the day before with friend egg, scrambled egg, omelet, pancake or waffle. A smoothie would have been nice also. Not everyone likes hard boiled eggs. The hotel has their own restaurant that serves italian food. We didnt try but it looked good. Final words: Staff was friendly, we changed room once arriving because Expedia made a mistake. We wanted a bath, and we got it immediately without paying extra! The rooms feel strange, at no point did I feel I was in a 4 star hotel. Boutique hotels should stand out in my opinion, they cant offer everything chain hotels can, so they can use the 6 rooms only to their advantage. This is the most I ever paid for a hotel ever, and I have been to stunning 5 star places where you felt like royalty. We felt it was expensive for what you get.

A wonderful experiece ! The check-in goes via the nextdoor restaurant as there is really no space for a reception desk in this Middle Age former house of Scottish wool merchants. There are only 6 rooms and we had the one on the second floor. That was the best way to realize how our ancestors needed a good physical condition to climb narrow, steep and winding stairs. Staff carried our limited luggage and our effort was gratified with a splendid outlook on the small harbour on one side and the old city on the other . Being the only room on this floor it offers a spacious bedroom with very good mattresses and an equally spacious bathroom where Rituals samples are generously available. We have never experienced such a friendly, smiling breakfast as in De Heeren and after two days we understand why visitors are so enthousiast. The ground floor houses an Italian restaurant. Unless you are fit we would recommend asking for a room on the first floor and don't be suprised that the bells of the nearby Old City Hall keep telling the hour even during the night.
