I've seen a lot of negative comments on here about the Hotel Cavtat, for me it seems they were staying at another Hotel! The Hotel is situated right on the sea front and was always spotless. Buffet style breakfast with an Omelette station and loads of fresh fruit and cereals available. People have complained about the sixe of the pool but remember it is only a plunge pool NOT an olympic sized free form pool!! The Adriatic is just outside the front door with a cordoned off 100m x 50m area for peaceful swimming! Our only complaint was about some of the guests who thought they should be waitied on hand and foot!! The staff at breakfast were always busy but always said good morning, common courtesy works both ways. we had a sea view which was amazing, rooms were cleaned every day and no complaints about the reception staff. If you are planning any trips, call into to see Michael (50m away), we went on the wine tasting half day trip and it was stunning, only 8 on the trip, loads of details on the history of the area, never felt rushed and the hospitality at the end by Marco and his family was amazing. Definately return to this unspoilt area of Croatia

    • Croatia, Cavtat, Lovely holiday

Stayed here mid August and having read reviews, good and bad, we were content that we would have a great time. We did. The room was as requested, high and quiet and very well appointed. Air con and fridge included and the view off the balcony was spectacular. Great start to the holiday. Pool is as previously reported, needs a few more sun loungers but there are plenty of chairs and parasols and the bar is reasonably priced. The beer is cheaper than most of the other bars in town. Our check in was quick and efficient and we asked for a second key card which they did without quibbling. Breakfast was good although initially finding where things were was a little confusing (tea on one side of the room and coffee on the other, butter on a separate island to the bread). We had one evening meal there on our anniversary but was disappointed as the meal was buffet style only and for us, not the best quality unfortunately. The rest of our trip we ate out either at restaurants or fast food outlets; the one at the bus station was great. Good quality and if you eat in served on china plates with cutlery. Food locally was inexpensive, on average 35 for a meal for 2 with drink. Back to the hotel, out front by the sea is a restaurant bar that has great views and a really nice place to have a beer after being out and about during the day. We found all staff to be very welcoming and attentive in all areas of the hotel and our cleaning lady greeted us every day with a smile and a good morning with genuine sincerity; a lovely lady. Overall, we had a great stay and were very impressed with Croatia and Cavtat Hotel. The only reason for the 4 not 5 rating was the evening meal which i found to be a lot more expensive than eating out. 1000 Kunes for Buffet and a bottle of Prosecco. We were paying 250- 350 kunes eating out at a restaurant.

What a beautiful little town Cavtat is, it was a real treat for us to spend some time there. On arrival at the Hotel Cavtat we were very pleased with our allocated room and enjoyed the hotel's central location and stunning views, especially from the dining area. We can't understand why guests leave bad reviews!! Please do spend a little more on a seaview room as the view is a five star one with the hotels wonderful location. Don't expect any frills this hotel is 3 star but very clean and well positioned. No tea, coffee or fridge in room. Free safe. and for small refundable deposit you can obtain beach towels. Beautiful dining room with delicious breakfast and excellent coffee. Expect the dining room to be busy a peak times and staff are rushed but you will get all you need. We had our evening meal included and we mostly enjoyed what was on offer and the dining room is not as busy at night, we are generally quite healthy eaters so expect that type of food. If you want plenty of pool space and sunbeds go to a different hotel. We found all the staff to be most helpful and very nice, especially reception very efficient and pleasant, a special thank you to all. Do not expect 4 or 5 star facilities but we enjoyed this hotel every bit as much as some higer grade hotels we have previously stayed in. Trips by Michael beside the hotel are excellent and we recommend you take a least one trip with this family run business you won't be disappointed. Thanks to all for a hassle free holiday in your beautiful country and we really do hope we can return to explore the area futher. .

I would never book this hotel ever again, website promises you everything and you get absolutely nothing, you try to be nice and all you get is a rude response, especially from reception. They do not think about customer service at all. For the rooms , 215 is like a prison cell and should not be a hotel room. We told reception that we we're not happy and claustrophobic and they didn't seem to care or try and help. So dissapointing, I have cried alot about the service and the rooms and it has ruined my holiday.

We recently stayed at this hotel.. we had booked and payed for a room with a sea view. We where given 406. We where dreadfully disappointed . We overlooked the back of the building in front of us.. Sea view my foot. We complained and where told it did have views of the sea!!! we contacted out travel agent and the next day we where moved. The room and view was better for sure, but no fridge. We where given one.One positive is they have very good mattresses on the bed. The pool was lovely. not enough sun loungers, some of them broken, some very dirty they say towels not to be put on the loungers people did then never arrived till later. It was lovely to have the peace and quiet up there, no music, just the aircraft flying over.. It was a good system putting a deposit on the pool towels and changed as and when.. For me with mobility issues it became difficult with the steps. The staff where very good on the whole, but not enough staff in the dinning room, the staff just couldn't keep up with laying and clearing of the tables. . Breakfast was fine for a buffet as was the evening meal BUT the food was just not hot enough. Music far too loud in the dinning room. Tables too close together. We booked our trips through Michael just down a few metres from the hotel. He was very helpful and we recommend him. We did enjoy our stay on the whole. It is a three star hotel but there could be improvements. We will not be returning, but would visit Croatia again.
