Lets start with the good stuff, nespressomachine inroom, loccitane toiletries, huge rooms, a la carte breakfast, massage inroom, and valetparking. Obviously the building itself is lovely and provides a good base for exploring the historic citycentre. The downside, rooms facing the courtyard are dark, since there is no natural light entering, smell of damp in bathrooms, just OK beds , poor soundproofing and having to run water for 5 minutes before it warms up.

I found this hotel to be incredibly clean, visually luscious, and well-located for anyone who wants to explore the city on foot. The amenities were unexpected luxuries in a hotel that even had potable water. Overall most of the staff members were helpful and friendly. I stayed here with a last minute schedule change, and mostly just wanted a safe and clean place to sleep. The A/C was out during my stay which was an inconvenience as my room did not get much air even with the window open. Mostly, the 5th star is not included as I was charged 2x for the room. I complained twice while I was there, and just sent an email to follow up. (I stayed there 2 weeks ago and have not yet been credited the amount.) Aside from that, this is hands-down a 5 star property. I will update my rating depending on when/if the financial issue is resolved.

The good: beautiful space, impeccable, excellent customer service, toiletries, best shower, comfortable bed, tasteful decor. Great view from the restaurant of the cathedral. The not so good: fan offered in room in lieu of air conditioner which did not win me over due to my temperature sensitivity. For the price would have expected they would repair the air. Food at the restaurant was just ok.

Sitting on the corner of the main plaza, Casa Grande is a beautiful place. Once inside the entrance, you walk past huge urns/planters to the desk at the far end. Rather than stand, you sit at the desk to be checked in. Nice touch. Our room was in the least expensive category, but it was stunning--King bed with wonderful bedding, tile floors, lots of closet space, spacious bath. Inside window with shutters to an inside courtyard (second floor gave us a balcony around the courtyard. The dining room was just down the hallway. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Other than the aqueduct, everything you want to see is within a couple of blocks.

I have had the privilege to visit many great hotels in the world and now I count Casa Grande in that list. I really cannot say enough good things about the Casa Grande - it's just a stunning property. From the moment I entered the hotel, I was struck by the meticulous and painstaking renovation of this property - no detail was overlooked and no expense was spared. I am in still in awe of the time and investment that it must have taken to bring this grand dame back to her glory. Our room was beautiful. The room was able to perfectly balance the fine line of retaining the historic feel of the property while having an updated and luxurious vibe. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodation. Every staff member that we met was professional, friendly, and efficient - but Jorge has set the standard by which we will measure all hotel staff in the future. Jorge was just unbelievable - knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and aimed to ensure that all guests had the best hotel experience of their lives. Jorge was able to take ownership of any requests (luggage, dining, etc) and took our stay from great to phenomenal. If you are visiting Morelia, this is the property to choose.
