Easy transfer from Tasch to hotel. Perfect location, close to all attractions and shops, yet a few blocks away from the main street which provided quiet. Arrival quickly provided a sense of home by the warm welcome from the 2nd generation owners of the chic hideaway. Rooms were modern with everything one would want. One couple in our party upgraded to deluxe room which provided a sitting area for 30 f a night. Breakfast was good and somewhat extensive, the highlights being fresh omelets made to order and fresh squeezed orange juice. The Spa was a welcome spot each day after hiking, shopping or whatever. It had a warm and cozy jacuzzi, steam room and suana, along with stretching tables. And finally the fire pit in lobby area was warm and cozy spot for a nightcap. However there was a charged for hot chocolate or other drinks that you might want. All in all a 9.0 out of 10.

We stayed here for two days in a balcony room facing the Matterhorn. The hotel is on a busy street which did make it difficult to sleep with the door open at night since there isnt any air conditioning. The room was very large in European terms with updated modern amenities. Breakfast was included in our package as well as the mini bar which is stocked daily. We booked directly through the hotel and previous mentioned benefits were included in the price. They do offer a shuttle to pick you up or take you to the train station. The staff was very welcoming and did provide help with any questions from where to eat and how to get to certain hiking trails. They could answer any question thrown at them. The hotel is about 10-15-minute walk to the Matterhorn cable car and 8 minutes to the city center. You could easily see the city in an hour with the rest of your time spent hiking. We would recommend staying here but if you have trouble sleeping and it is summer you might want to consider not facing the street.

We have been traveling for two weeks throughout Switzerland and were expecting this hotel to be more or less like all the others! We were so wrong! The owner and staff are delightful and dedicated to making your stay terrific. The rooms are so tastefully decorated with a modern touch but warm and welcoming. There are extra touches throughout that just make your stay so comfortable! The room is equipped with an adapter counsel that can handle any type plug plus two USB ports. Coffee is in the room as well as complimentary water! There are extra comfy blankets, robes and slippers. The bed is the most comfortable that we encountered. They offer free breakfast that is incredible and more then plentiful. Fresh squeezed orange juice(plus three other varieties), any type of coffee or tea, fresh fruit compotes, hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs(first we have seen this whole trip), bacon, sausage, a meat tray and salmon, and a cheese tray with at least 10 types of local and national cheeses, and of course a delightful assortment of breads. Did I mention that they really are here to please? We needed to go back down to the scenic train station and asked for a taxi... the owner would not have it...he insisted on taking us there himself. If you are traveling to Zermatt...this is the place to stay. Rated 3 stars but should really be 4!

    • Really nice, quiet hotel in otherwise turbulent Zermatt

There are a lot of tourists in a small area in Zermatt, and some of the streets - particularly the main ones paralleling the river - are quite busy. Hotel Bellerive is further "up" Zermatt (to the south, further from the main train station), a little off the main roads, but not too far from some of the main sites. It's much quieter, and also with better views (the Matterhorn, for example, isn't immediately visible even at the Zermatt train station). Pretty much all of Zermatt was within a 10 minute walk of here, both the Matterhorn Talstation (for going up to skiing or hiking around Trockener Steg, Schwarzee, etc.) and also the funicular up to Sunnegga and Blauherd. Everyone at the hotel is very nice, always asking how things are going, how your day was, if they can help with anything, etc. My only qualm with the hotel - which is not the hotel's fault at all - is that, compared to other places we stayed in Switzerland, this hotel had by far the most American guests. If you're from the USA and trying to stay away from other Americans for a week or two, this might not be the spot. If you don't mind, and you want great location, service, and amenities, this place is fantastic.

A very special hotel in a great location! We were impressed even before arriving as the hotel called us to arrange a shuttle pick up from the station. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was fantastic. We do not have a bad word to say about the staff, room, breakfast or the place - it was amazing! Do not hesitate to book here, you will not be disappointed! Thank you, we can't wait to come back.
