Excellent Hotel staff, location is perfect within walking distance to almost anything you want to do, if you dont mind climbing stairs get the suite with a terrace, its just mind blowing, we had nothing but good things to say about this hotel, I reserved a room with a king size bed, but I got a double bed instead however I asked the receptionist for a different room, and they upgraded me the next day to the suite with a terrace, honestly both rooms were fantastic, I just wanted a king size bed, and I got a lot more than I ask, the restaurant serves really good food, and everyone that works there makes you feel welcome, I absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.

    • Incredibly kind and accommodating service in excellent location

We arrived in early afternoon and hotel was pretty empty (no one was eating in the restaurant in front) so we were allowed to check in early. There was a potent smell coming from the water (a city issue) and they were so kind as to bend over backwards to provide us with options and even moved us to another room (that was surely an upgrade). Everyone who worked there was all about service first and, coming from the US (with mild Spanish in my repertoire) and lots of experience in the service industry, I'd definitely return. Location was the street back from the main square (just behind Teatro Juarez - a MUST btw) so you can avoid the large crowds and noise (although it's not totally quiet) and still be close to the action. Comfy beds and plenty of room for a couple. Do not ignore this sleeper hotel!

All of the staff really made us feel at home. We were well taken care of, especially by Omar. Nicely furnished and designed. Great location near the action, but far enough away to avoid most noise and experience the quainter vibes of Guanajuato, Included breakfast was very good (omelets, huevos rancheros, hotcakes, a couple of others), We were kindly upgraded to the Capela Room for three nights of five. The room is very nice and comfortable, but the terrace was awesome. Can see steeples, hear music in the background and relax. We stayed for the first two nights in the Chavez Morado room. It's a window facing the inside of the building and the stairway. While it is a small hotel, other guests past your room window going up and down the stairway.

    • Lovely and quaint, but some problems

      Reviewed 17 March 2019

It was a long climb up 3 steep flights to access our room, but it was worth it. The room was a great mix of historic charm and modern amenities. Staff was warm and helpful. The bathroom, however was not great. There was a perpetual smell of raw sewage, fixtures were in need of replacement, no water pressure, and always damp. For the price, I expected a much better bathroom. Parking is $200 pesos per day, and hotel is nearly impossible to find. No signage on exterior.
