    • Three night

      Reviewed 10 September 2019

Stayed here for three nights. I booked a room through Expedia. The staff were very friendly to me and they made me feel welcome and comfortable. In the last day I had an issue with the shower room and I reported it and the staff member noted it without raising any issues. The room was bigger than I had expected when you open the door there is a sofa on your right and two chairs and a table in front of you. The bed is on the other side of the room. The toilet and shower room are separated which I think is something I've only seen in France. The room was cleaned every day. The was big and had all amenities needed. The location is just one minute from the beach.

    • Awful place fuir! Trs loin d'un 4*

      Reviewed 06 January 2019

I booked a room with two twin beds for my daughter and myself. Upon arrival the room had one queen bed. A simple oversight (though a bad omen for a so-called 4 star), I requested they be separated. Upon returning from dinner at 11pm the beds had been separated but the bedding was gone! The fluffy duvet had disappeared and only a thin cotton blanket was left. I went in search of some form of hotel staff but the place was empty. I had to sleep in full clothing covered with beach towels, as the aircon couldnt be adjusted to a comfortable temp. The room dcor must have been chosen during someones bad acid trip. The mattresses are completely worn out I had to flip it over and the bedding is cheap. The so-called garden view is of the weeds growing about the giant HVAC tubes on the roof of the hotel. The next day after a downpour the same became a swamp of fetid water. The bathroom is a disgrace: shabby thin towels of the type one finds at a 2 star hotel, poor cheap amenities and shabby condition. The balcony overhang (roof) has not been checked in years and when it began to pour the water began generously running through the worn wooden slats onto our belongings. The charmless restaurant (if you can call it that) profits from the poor location of the hotel at the far end of the beach, where there is little choice without walking or taking the ferry to Hondarribia (which I recommend). I ordered some form of salad which arrived with a mound of grated carrot peelings with no sauce or dressing of any kind. The poultry arrived cold with feathers still sticking out of it and was totally insipid. At least it was expensive. The spa was ok, with very nice staff. The thalasso was mediocre, with all tanks being either cool or cold. No extra towels are provided. An awful place, really shameful and a total scam.

We enjoyed the stay very much, the thalasso treatments and facilties were excellent, the staff very friendly and professional, and the food in the restaurant very good indeed. Just a few comments: 1) I am the person (Kate Sanderson) who organised the stay and had all the advance booking communication, but your review message and the check-in material was only in the name of my husband, Carl Jhan Jensen. I find that somewhat insulting.2) The towels in the room were very old and worn, some even had holes in them. This really lowers the otherwise good standard.3) It would be useful to have extra hooks in the room, or on the balcony, to hang the bathrobes.4) The reception desk could be better informed about local transport options, such as the buses to Gare Hendaye (no. 4) and to Saint Jean de Luz (no 20).

    • Poor service and view

      Reviewed 09 July 2018

We spend two nights in this hotel, booking two double rooms. We got rooms with no view - windows opened onto inner atrium with industry space: ventilation and chimneys. Rooms have decoration good for previous decades. Spa standard is like public service in huge sanatorium. Personnel is difficult for help - (in the checkout morning we went for walking, when we comeback to our rooms they were cleaned and prepared for the next guests... throwing our drinks and food (we left it for our traveling) they didnt say even sorry for this situation...) The hotel is closed to the public beach.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff the beach is a hop away from the front door of the hotel and the thalassotherapy centre is the best facility of it's ind I've experienced. Lovely warm sea water indoor pools and jets of water at every position and angle. Especially good if the weather is not as fine as you would like. Just a couple of little problems would like to see more staff on the breakfast shift and a four star should have more breakfast choice on offer in my opinion the breakfast was a little expensive. Also the mattress in our room needed changing as it was a little saggy. Overall I would definately go back here and reccomend to anyone.
