This is our base to visit relatives, the room is perfectly fine and the beds comfortable.Had a lovely bank holiday weekend break, the staff were all very efficient so no complaints there. We had the breakfast both days which was absolutely fine and the service was good so I don't understand bad reviews but tomorrows another day.Have to say the restaurant manager was completely hands on to make sure everthing was running smoothly.

We stayed on Saturday for the night as part of a National Holidays break. The first room we were given had a double bed and a duvet and pillow put on the sofa in the room. As I had booked a twin room for my friend and I we phoned reception and asked if we could be moved to a room with twin beds, as the sofa was far too small and uncomfortable to sleep on. Approximately 20 minutes later a member of staff came and showed us to another room (number 224) and carried my bags to the new room, which had twin beds and was much more suitable. We just made it in time for our sitting for our evening meal, which we both enjoyed. The bread and butter pudding was particularly good. We had a drink in the bar afterwards and as there was a wedding party there is was quite entertaining to people watch. Breakfast was very enjoyable, with a nice selection to chose from. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Considering how much we had paid for the weekend break, despite the little hiccup with the rooms we both enjoyed our overnight stay there and we would happily return.

    • Reliable as always

We stayed here as s couple and took the superior room. The bed was large and comfy and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. The room was large and clean as was the bathroom. The only thing we would have liked was a mini fridge considering it was a superior room. We had a drink in the bar which was fine. We did not try the restaurant. All in all, reliable, clean and good value

    • Nice hotel, with friendly staff.

We stayed at this hotel over the August bank holiday, so it was busy. The hotel is very well run. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait to be seated for breakfast or dinner. The breakfast has a very big variety of food and drinks from continental to a full blown English breakfast. The evening menu was a little bit more restricted and I would of liked to of seen more verity. It was nice to be able to sit in the garden which is in the middle of the hotel. The only downside I had with this hotel was that guests were using the fire exits to go into the garden or to cut across to go to the dining room or bar. The problem with that was that every time the door was opened it slammed shut. Which means the connecting room (our room) had banging doors. Which woke me up a couple of times in the morning.

    • Bright, spacious and well-equipped hotel!

Just back from a long weekend here with family of different generations. Excellent location to explore the attractions of the Chilterns and Oxford. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. The dining room was light and airy. The gym and swimming pool were visited by the youngest member of our party. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a good base to explore the surrounding area.
